Create and Upload the Definition File

Create a definition file and upload it to the Costpoint Word template. The field definition file compiles the result set data by domain, module, and application screen. Extensibility fields are also included in the file.

To create and upload the definition file:

  1. Open the Manage Word Templates application.
  2. Click Create Definition File.
  3. Click Ok.
  4. In the Process menu, click File Download.
  5. Find and select the CPMETADATA definition file.
  6. Click Download File to save the definition file to your computer.
  7. Open the Costpoint Word Template add-in in MS Word.
  8. Depending on the Costpoint Word Template add-in version you are using, perform one of the following:
    • Click Import Definition File.
    • Click Choose File.
  9. Browse to the location of the downloaded CPMETADATA definition file and select it.
    The Word Template add-in populates with result set data. You can now select domains, modules, and applications that contain the fields you want to use for the template.
Note: You may want to create and upload a new definition file to reflect new and updated fields before creating a new template.
