Use the Departments submodule to mark departments as inactive.
To use the Departments submodule, you must have access to
Settings as defined in the User Access Rights submodule under
Settings.
To mark a department as inactive:

On the main toolbar, click
Settings
.

If you have more than one company in your system, use the drop-down list above the left pane of the Settings screen to select the company containing the department that you want to enable the active status of.

In the left pane of the Settings screen, click
.

Highlight the department that you want to disable the active status of and clear the
Active checkbox.

When WorkBook asks if you want to deactivate the selected department, click
Yes.
Note: Inactive or deactivated departments are enclosed in parenthesis and/or are highlighted in red in WorkBook grids, columns, and fields. WorkBook keeps the historical data of inactive departments even if they are filtered out moving forward. They will still appear in instances where they were previously selected.
