Mark a Department as Inactive

Use Departments in the Company Settings submodule in the Settings module to mark departments as inactive.

To use Departments in the Company Settings submodule, you must have access to Settings as defined in User Access Rights under Settings.

To mark a department as inactive:

  1. On the main toolbar, click Settings .
  2. If you have more than one Company in your WorkBook system, use the drop-down list above the left pane of the Settings page to select the Company that contains the department that you want to mark as inactive.
  3. In the left pane of the Settings page, click Company Settings > Departments.
  4. Highlight the department that you want to mark as inactive and deselect the Active check box.
  5. When WorkBook asks if you want to deactivate the selected department, click Yes.
Note: Inactive departments are highlighted in red and/or enclosed in parentheses in WorkBook grids, columns, and fields. WorkBook retains the historical data of inactive departments, even if they are filtered out moving forward. They continue to appear in instances where they were previously selected.
