Agent Type 132 - Calendar Worker V9 Engine

Use Agent Type 132 - Calendar Worker V9 Engine to automatically perform calendar synchronizations.

WorkBook has two calendar synchronization agents. These are located in Settings > Advanced Tools > Agent Setup.

• Agent Type 132 - Calendar Worker V9 Engine

The V9 version is less demanding on the database compared to the other version, whose run time is limited to two hours. As a result, you can set the V9 version to run at any interval.

Note: It is normal for the initial calendar synchronization process to run for an extended duration.

Prerequisites

The Calendar Worker V9 Engine agent requires a working V9/HTML system to be in place. To verify whether your system can support this agent, contact the WorkBook Customer Success Team.

Parameters

Field	Description
Start	Enables you to specify the number of weeks (from today) that the agent looks into the past to perform the synchronization.
End	Enables you to specify the number of weeks (from today) that the agent looks into the future to perform the synchronization. Note: Similar to the original agent, the V9 agent requires start and end intervals from the current date. If you are using multiple agents, ensure that the end value for the first agent matches the start value for the second agent so that they do not overlap.
URL to Basic Version	The URL that references the V9 version of WorkBook. Note: If employees access V9 using the link myworkbookhtml.workbook.net this link should say https://myworkbookhtml.workbook.net. If your WorkBook system does not use SSL, you must use http . If you leave this field bank, WorkBook uses the value specified in System Variable 911 (BasicUrl). Note: You can use this System Variable instead, but ensure that the http or https is included in the link.
Include Detailed Logging	This option is used only for debugging purposes and should be ignored.

Recommended Schedule

These recommendations are based on optimum performance, as well as how useful the agent is at certain frequencies. You can specify the schedule settings on the Scheduling tab of the bottom grid in Settings > Advanced Tools > Agent Setup.

Setting Up Multiple Calendar Agents

The V9 calendar agent lets you run multiple calendar agents in separate date intervals. For instance, you might have an agent that only looks at the current week and runs at a frequency of 15 minutes, and a separate agent that looks a year ahead, running once a day.

If you want to run calendar sync in multiple date intervals at several frequencies, you must add multiple calendar workers to the agent setup. Adding multiple rows to the schedule on a single agent allows for performing calendar syncs at different times of the day, but the parameters are reused. However, note that you cannot have separate start and end dates. To have different date intervals, you must add a new instance of the Calendar Worker V9 Engine and configure its parameters and scheduling.
