Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Select a Family (Classic Workspace)

Select a family element in the Project Elements pane to load its properties onto the element form of the classic workspace for viewing and modification.

This selection enables you to perform actions with the family such as adding it to or removing it from the project.

To select a family:

  1. Open a project in the classic project workspace.
  2. In the Categories pane of the classic workspace, select a project category.
  3. In the Project Elements pane, filter the list of elements to use Assemblies view/UniFormat for your project.
    You can also search for a family.
  4. Select the lowest-level assembly for your desired element tree path.
    The following assembly levels are available:
    • Assembly: Assembly Group
      • Assembly: Subassembly Group
        • Assembly: Subassembly Type

    For some element tree paths, a subassembly type is not available. Thus, the lowest-level assembly, which holds the families, is the subassembly group on the second level.

  5. Under the subassembly, select a family element.
    You expanded the family and displayed its child product types.
