Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Search for Project Elements (New Workspace)

Search for project elements, such as families and product types, to quickly find content that you want to view in, add to, modify for, or remove from your project.

To search for one or more project elements:

  1. Open a project in the new workspace.
  2. In the new workspace, click Elements Panel.
  3. In the Elements panel, enter an name or element number of a project element, such as an assembly, family, section, or product type.
  4. Press ENTER.
    The Elements panel displays the resulting project elements in their respective colors. This pane also displays the related project elements, such as parent assemblies or divisions, of an element in the search results in a dimmed color.
The new workspace retains the search criteria whenever you switch to either Assemblies view or Divisions view.
