Contents of the Element Form for Families, Sections, and Product Types
When you select a family, section, or product type, use the contents of this form to edit the element's content items.
Element Tabs (Parts)
On the element form, the following tabs are available:
Tab | Description |
---|---|
General | Click this tab to display the articles and paragraphs under the General part.
Typically, this tab includes properties, such as submittal requirements, quality assurance properties, and warranty options. |
Products | Click this tab to display the articles and paragraphs under the Products part.
This tab includes shared properties. |
Execution | Click this tab to display the articles and paragraphs under the Execution part.
This tab includes quality control property sets and shared properties. |

Element Form Options
On the element form, the following options are available:

Expand All | Click this button to expand all of the element's articles and show all of the articles' paragraphs and subparagraphs. |
Collapse All | Click this button to collapse all of the element's articles and hide all of the articles' paragraphs and subparagraphs. |
Element Form Contents
On the element form, the following content items are available:

Articles | This is one or multiple articles which organize paragraphs and property sets under a part in an element. The available articles depend on the selected
family, section, or
product type.

Paragraphs | This is one or multiple paragraphs that make up your specification contents and which you can modify based on your project requirements. The available paragraphs depend on the selected
family, section, or
product type.
Typically, a paragraph represents a property or describes a particular form or function of a project element. See Paragraph. |
Notes to Specifier | These notes provide
MasterSpec or firm-level guidance that pertains to an article or paragraph in order to aid its review and modification.
