Copy a Product Type

As an administrator or author, copy a product type to create a custom product type for unique project requirements.

When you copy a product type, multiple rules apply and Specpoint automatically makes adjustments to related project elements.

To copy a product type.

1. In the Project Elements pane of the project workspace, select an added product type.
   An added product type displays in green.
2. On the workspace toolbar, click .
3. In the Copy dialog box, in the Enter Product Type Name Here field, enter a unique name for the new product type.
4. Click Create.
   In the Project Elements pane, the custom product type displays in green to indicate its active state in the project. On the element form, the product type's content items are now available for modification.
