Product Filter Rules and Mechanics

Use this portion of the documentation as a reference on general mechanics and usage tips for product filters in the Product Listings window.

For product listing filters in the Product Listings window, the following rules and mechanics apply:

Item Description
Filter Interdependency Filter fields display only values that apply to the available product listings based on other set filters.

For example, for the Abrasive-Surface Floor Plate product type, let us say that the only available product listings are those from Company A. If you select Abrasive-Surface Floor Plate in the Product Types filter field, then the Manufacturers filter field contains only the Company A option.

Active Filtering Specpoint updates available product listing cards with every filter that you set.
Multiple Selection You can specify any combination of filters, which includes skipping a filter.
Available Actions For most of the available filters, you can perform the following actions:
  • Select an option from the drop-down list.
  • Enter a search term and select an option from the autocomplete results.
  • Click X in the pill of a selected option to remove the selection.
Selection Retention As long as you keep the Product Listings window open, the product filters retain your selections and entries regardless of your selections in other filter fields and actions within the window. At the project level, this includes your selections in the origin project workspace (such as when you select a new family in the Project Elements pane in project workspace).
