  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Product Card Types

A card type indicates the level of review, verification, and assessment that a product listing underwent within the platform. This determines the level of product data that you can include in your projects with each product selection.

For product listings in Specpoint, the following product card types are available:

Product Card Type Description
MasterSpec Verified This type of product listing indicates that the product has undergone a rigorous verification and evaluation process by Deltek's MasterSpec professional writing team, which consists of experienced certified specifiers and/or licensed architects and engineers. This process includes:
  • Expert Review: Deltek evaluated these products to verify that they comply with key specific requirements of the relevant MasterSpec family/section and product type.
  • Verification: The verification process is based on review of the published information provided by the product's manufacturer, which includes the available information on the manufacturer's website at the time of listing. This additional layer of review provides a higher level of confidence in the product's compliance with MasterSpec requirements.
MasterSpec-verified products can provide a helpful filter to list only products that satisfy the descriptive, reference standard, and performance requirements of the product types included within the specification section.
General Distribution This type of product listing has undergone review only for placement within the appropriate section and received no further evaluation. This process includes:
  • Basic Review: Deltek evaluated these products only for their likeliest appropriate placement in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) MasterSpec and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) MasterFormat framework.
  • No Additional Verification: There was no further evaluation to determine whether these products comply with specific standards or fire and life safety requirements.
This type of listing serves as an open resource, offering a broad array of products that can be considered for various projects. It is crucial that design professionals do their due diligence and conduct a thorough review to confirm the product's suitability for the specific needs of each project and to confirm compliance with specific standards, fire and life safety requirements.
