Product Properties Tab

In the product listing details pane in the Product Listings window, use this tab to view product properties for a product listing, which include both MasterSpec properties and manufacturer properties. This enables you to determine whether a product fits your project requirements.

The Product Properties tab displays a list of the product's properties and their respective property options/values, which include selected property options that apply to the product listing.

Product Property

Typically, a product property is based on the product listing's product type. It describes a specific aspect of a product, such its size, form, performance, and material. A product property has the following format:

Type Description
Default <Property Name/Key>: (Option 1) (Option 2) (Option 3)

Based on the product's listing type and the options that its manufacturer availed, the following types of product properties are available:

Type Description
MasterSpec Properties These properties are standard or baseline properties based on the product listing's MasterSpec product type. For a given product listing, its manufacturer selects options for any combination of its available MasterSpec properties. A given property displays the selected options and all possible options.
A MasterSpec property can have options under the following option types:
Manufacturer Properties These properties are additional properties that are specific to a manufacturer and its product listings.

A manufacturer property can have only manufacturer options.

For each product property, the following options are available:

Type Description
MasterSpec Options These are standard or baseline options and are available by default for only MasterSpec properties under MasterSpec product types.
Manufacturer Options These are additional options that are specific to a manufacturer and its product listings. Manufacturer options are available for both MasterSpec properties and manufacturer properties.

Equivalent Product Type Properties

In Specpoint, each product property of a listing has an associated product type property paragraph that you include in your project's families, sections, and product types. The link between a listing's product property and a product type property paragraph in your project enables you to perform the following:
  • Specify product requirements in your project's family, section, and product type elements to aid in your product selection.
  • Use a product listing's product properties in specifying associated paragraphs in your project.
