General Tab

The General tab of the EPM Security Weblink utility allows you to specify the database connection information, such as the server name, user name, and password. You can also disable the process server on a given database from this tab.

All tabs in Weblink display a common toolbar. Some buttons, however, are only available on certain tabs.

For more information, see EPM Security Weblink Overview.

Current Database

Select a database that you want to configure from the drop-down list. The options display in alphabetical order. By default, the first item in the list displays. Selecting a database displays its corresponding settings in the other fields. All of the fields that display on the General tab and Report Server tab are dependent on the value of this field.

You can add or delete databases by using the corresponding buttons on the application toolbar.

Moreover, this field has the Quick Find functionality. Once you enter a character, the Quick Find feature performs a type-ahead search, and locates the domain that best matches the specified character. For example, typing "s" displays the first SQL database in the list.

Configuration

This group box allows you to configure the selected database.

Database Type

Select a database type from the drop-down list. You can select one of the following types that the utility supports in this release:

By default, this field displays SQL Server. Selecting Oracle disables the Database Name field.

Database Server

Enter the name of the database server as entered in Microsoft SQL Server. By default, this field is blank.

Database Name

Enter the name of the Deltek PM Compass database to which you will connect. By default, this field is blank. If you select SQL Server in the Database Type field, this field becomes disabled.

Description

Enter a unique description that also displays on the PM Compass Login dialog box. It follows the <Description> (<SQL Server>) format. By default, this field is blank.

Windows Authentication

Select this option to use a Windows user account to connect to the database. The user account must be created as a valid user account in the server and have the appropriate rights to the PM Compass database. By default, this option is not selected.

Selecting this option disables the Database Username and Database Password fields, allowing you or anyone assigned as the administrator to use the Windows user name and password instead.

Database Username

Enter the user name of the Microsoft SQL Server administrator who manages the selected database.

Database Password

Enter the password of the user specified in the Database Username field.

Passwords are encrypted, wherein the Weblink utility replaces all characters with asterisks (*).

EPMSA Virtual Directory (Optional)

Enter an EPM Security Administrator virtual directory for the selected database to display as available database only for the specified virtual directory. If this field is blank, all virtual directories on a given Web server can access the database. By default, this field is blank.

PM Compass Virtual Directory (Optional)
