The System Settings tab of the EPM Security Weblink utility allows you specify the server job information and the session state storage parameters.
For more information, see EPM Security Weblink Overview.
Enter the interval in seconds at which the system polls databases for alerts and schedule jobs. You can enter a numeric value from 0 through 999. By default, this field displays 5.
When you enter or modify the value, a message displays informing you to restart any process server that needs to use the new setting.
Enter the maximum number of jobs that can run concurrently on the process server, regardless of the actual number of jobs in a queue. You can enter zero (0) to have unlimited concurrent jobs. You can enter a numeric value from 0 through 999. By default, this field is 10.
If you run too many concurrent jobs, add additional load to your database server and/or report server.
When you enter or modify the value, a message displays informing you that you must restart any process server that needs to use the new setting.
The settings you make in Weblink are saved to a local databases.enc file. The said file tells PM Compass Web/application servers and process servers how to connect to the database and the report server. If you make a change in Weblink, the updated databases.enc file should be copied to all other Web and process servers in your environment. The default location for this file is C:\Program Files (x86)\Deltek\PMCompass.
To copy the file to the other servers, enter the server UNC path (or mapped network drive) where the file is located and click Save. Repeat this for each server.
The copy process uses the credentials of the user who launched Weblink. The same user must have proper privileges to update the servers.
Typically, the PM Compass folders are not shared and you may have to specify the Windows hidden administrative share as part of the folder path to copy the databases.enc file.
Select the location where you want to save the session state from the drop-down list. You can select one of the following options:
In Memory — This option saves the session state in the computer's temporary memory. By default, this option is selected.
In the Database Server — This option saves the session state in the database server. If this option is selected, the Test button on the toolbar and all fields in the Database Setup group box become enabled.
Select this option to allow PM Compass to send error messages to Deltek automatically, allowing Deltek to log those errors.
This group box allows you to configure the database that stores the session state.
Select a database type from the drop-down list. You can select one of the following types that Weblink utility supports in this release:
SQL Server
Oracle
By default, this field displays SQL Server.
Enter the name of the database server that stores the session state. By default, this field is blank.
Enter the name of the PM Compass database server that stores the session state. By default, this field is blank.
Select this option to use a Windows user account to connect the SQL Server database. By default, this option is not selected.
Enter the user name of the Microsoft SQL Server administrator who manages the database.
If Windows Authentication is selected, this field is disabled.
If Windows Authentication is not selected, you need to specify a value for this field.
Enter the corresponding password for the user specified in the SQL username field.
If Windows Authentication is selected, this field is disabled.
If Windows Authentication is not selected, you need to specify a value for this field.
Enter the number of days that Weblink can save old sessions before deleting. You can enter a numeric value from 0 through 999. By default, this field displays 0.
This field is required and editable if the Store Session State field is set to In Database Server.
This group box allows you to configure advanced server connection settings. It contains the following options:
Select this option if you use Windows Integrated Authentication with PM Compass and meet the requirements described in the next paragraph.
Kerberos is the default authentication package for Windows Integrated Authentication when used with Windows Server 2003 and later domains. Kerberos does not traverse firewalls, so it can only be used on a private network or virtual private network (VPN) on which users can communicate with the Key Distribution Center (KDC) on the domain controller.
Select this option to support both Kerberos and NTLM authentication.
Select this option to return settings to their default.
Select this option if you do not go through a proxy server to access the Web server. Selecting this option improves system performance when it experiences long delays. By default, this option is not selected.
