Charge Type Element Field Descriptions

Charge Type

Identifying name of the charge type.

Level Number

A hierarchical level for the Element Name. For example, the Charge Type ORDER has Element Name ORDER at Level 1 and Element Name OPERATION at Level 2.

If you will be defining a Charge Filtration Group (via the Charge Filtration form), you can select specific elements and levels for filtration.

Element Name

Identifying name of the charge type element.

Planned Hours

Check the Planned Hours box for the level that will be used to calculate the Planned/Actual/Remaining Hours. To do so, select the Charge Type Element record and click Modify. Check or uncheck the Planned Hours box and click Save. The Planned Hours box can only be checked for one of the detail records.

Planned Hours are the number of hours that are planned (budgeted) to complete the labor for a particular charge element. Planned Hours can be defined on the Charge Element form for any level of a charge element (e.g., Order, Operation, Activity). If more than one level of a charge element has Planned Hours, the Planned Hours check box on the Charge Type Element form defines which level will be used to calculate the Planned/Actual/Remaining Hours when labor is posted.

For example, if the Charge Element ORDER has three levels – Order, Operation, and Activity, and Operation has the Planned Hours box checked, then the Planned/Actual/Remaining Hours will be calculated based on the Planned Hours defined for the Operation on the Charge Element form.

System Required

This box is automatically checked for Charge Type Elements that are system-defined. These Charge Type Elements cannot be deleted or modified.
