Troubleshooting and FAQs

Use this section to troubleshoot common issues and find answers to frequently asked questions related to the Command Center.

Why am I not seeing data in the Command Center?

If you're not seeing any data in the Command Center, it's likely because your project roles have not been set up in Costpoint. If you believe you should have access to certain project data, contact your system administrator to verify your permissions.

For administrators: Use the Manage Project Roles screen to assign roles to projects and users. Only users assigned to specific projects, based on their project roles, will be able to view associated data in the Command Center.

Can I see data for projects I'm not assigned to?

No. The Command Center restricts access to only the projects you're assigned to. This enhances performance and ensures a more customized user experience.

Why can't I see or open the Command Center in Costpoint?

There are a few common reasons why the Command Center might not be displayed:

  • Access not granted: Contact your system administrator to request access. For administrators, verify that the user has been granted access to the Command Center module in the Manage Users application.
  • BI installation not completed: The Command Center requires a successful BI installation. Ensure your BI version is up to date by checking the lower-right corner of the BI Welcome Screen.
  • New UI not enabled: On the Configure User Preferences screen, set New User Interface to Yes. If you do not see this setting, contact your system administrator.

Why is there no data displayed in the Command Center even though project roles are established?

Data may not be displaying because the PSR Reporting Tables haven't been updated for the BI Current Reporting Period. This process should ideally be run before advancing the reporting period. Your organization may update these tables daily, weekly, monthly, or on demand, usually after calculating burdens and revenue.

Also, ensure that pending transactions are being updated appropriately. These are based on transactions entered but not yet posted. Use the Update Pending Report Tables screen to update the table for pending transactions as needed (for example, daily or weekly). The Create Unbilled Analysis Report tables must also be updated to display data on the Billing tab.

Important: If you update the pending transactions daily but only update the PSR weekly, some transactions may not be displayed in either dataset. Posted transactions will drop from the pending table but won't be displayed in the PSR until its next update. Make sure your process timing is aligned to avoid data gaps.

Why is the Hours Analysis tab empty?

The Hours Analysis tab uses Project Planning data. It only populates data if your company is licensed for the Planning module. If your organization does not use Planning, the tab will appear but remain empty. Currently, there is no option to hide this tab for users without Planning license.
