The Offline Charge Validation feature offers support for validation of charge elements in offline mode locally on supported devices.
Offline charge validation allows charge elements to be validated locally on the terminal, so that users will not be able to enter an invalid work order number, project number, or other charge element when the terminal is not connected to the server.
To enable the Offline Charge Validation feature, you must do the following:
Configure the Charge Element Filtration feature.
Enable OFFLINE_CHARGE_ELEMENT_VALIDATION for a specific Terminal (Terminal Settings form) or a Terminal Profile (Terminal Profile Settings form).
Note: The Terminal Setting will override the Terminal Profile Setting. Modifying the Terminal Profile Setting form will enable/disable offline charge validation for all terminals using that profile. Modifying the Terminal Setting will enable/disable offline charge validation only for the specified terminal.
Enable the TRIGGER_OFFLINE_VALIDATION_DOC_TRANSFER service n the Service Schedule tab of the Service Instance form. Make sure the CATEGORY Service Parameter has CHARGE_RECORDS selected.
This service will update selected Terminal Profiles with the latest charge element data for offline validation. You can also send this data to individual terminals using the Document Transfer button on the Terminal Monitor form.
If you want to validate offline charges against an employee’s assigned Charge Filter Policy, enable OFFLINE_CHARGE_FILTER_POLICY for a specific Terminal or Terminal Profile. The Charge Filter Policy is part of the Charge Element Filtration feature, which is used to limit the charge elements to which an employee can charge their time. The OFFLINE_CHARGE_FILTER_POLICY setting makes Charge Element Filtration available when the terminal is offline.
If you want to validate offline charges against an employee’s assigned Charge Filtration Group, enable OFFLINE_CHARGE_PERSON_FILTRATION for a specific Terminal or Terminal Profile. The Charge Filtration Group is part of the Charge Element Filtration feature, which is used to limit the charge elements to which an employee can charge their time. The OFFLINE_CHARGE_PERSON_FILTRATION setting makes Charge Element Filtration available when the terminal is offline.
