Use the Assign Ad Hoc Template form to assign Ad Hoc Templates to Schedule Policies. Schedule Policies can in turn be assigned to individual employees, groups of employees, or system settings, which allows multiple employees to use the same Ad Hoc template.
Ad Hoc Templates are generated into actual schedules when the system determines that a user is clocking in during a period that is assigned to an AD HOC PLACEHOLDER schedule with Ad Hoc Type By Clock (on the Schedule Cycle or Employee/Person Schedule form). The system checks which Schedule Policy the time reporter is assigned to, and locates the Ad Hoc Template assigned to that Schedule Policy.
For example, a person has an Ad Hoc Placeholder schedule from 6 AM to 6 PM. An Ad Hoc Template from 8 AM to 4 PM is assigned to the person's Schedule Policy. When the person clocks in any time between 6 AM and 6 PM, the person will receive the Ad Hoc Template (8 AM to 4 PM) as their schedule.

Schedule Group
This is the Schedule Policy to which to assign the Ad Hoc Template.
Clock In Time
Use this field to select an Ad Hoc Template Assignment for a Schedule Policy.
For example, a Schedule Policy has two Ad Hoc Template Assignments. Template A has a Clock In Time of 7 AM and Template B has a Clock In Time of 9 AM. If a person clocks in at 7 AM or earlier, Template A is used. If a person clocks in after 7 AM but before 9 AM, Template B is used.
Schedule Type
Category that describes the schedule – Normal, Exclusion, or Optional. See Schedule Types for more information.
The Schedule Type is defined on the Ad Hoc Templates form.
Schedule Start Time
This indicates the start time of the Ad Hoc Template.
Schedule End Time
This indicates the end time of the Ad Hoc Template.
Schedule Description
This is a description of the Ad Hoc Template.
Update Date, Updated By
These fields display when the record was created or updated, and the person who created or updated the record.
Click Main Menu > Administration > Schedules > Assign Ad Hoc Template.
Click the Filter button to display the Schedule Group field.
To find a specific Ad Hoc Template Assignment, select a Schedule Group and click Find.
To find all available Ad Hoc Template Assignments, leave the Schedule Group field blank and click Find.
Click Main Menu > Administration > Schedules > Assign Ad Hoc Template.
Click Add.
Select a schedule group in the Schedule Group field.
Enter the Clock In Time that the system will use to select the Ad Hoc Template for the Schedule Policy.
Select the Ad Hoc Template you are assigning to the Schedule Policy for the Clock In Time. You can also click the button to create a new Ad Hoc Template.
Click Save.
Click Main Menu > Administration > Schedules > Assign Ad Hoc Template.
Select the record you want to change and click Modify.
Change the Clock In Time and Ad Hoc Template as necessary and click Save.
Click Main Menu > Administration > Schedules > Assign Ad Hoc Template.
Select the record you want to delete and click Delete.
Click OK to confirm the action.
