Contents of the Resource View Form

Use fields and options on the Resource View form to assign employees and generic resources to projects and enter planned hours for those assignments. You can also use the form to review current and future assignments, reassign work from one resource to another, or reschedule planned hours.

Videos: See related videos below

The Resource View grid only displays resource assignments for which planned hours exist for dates later than the current job-to-date (JTD) date. The grid only displays planned hours for calendar periods that include the JTD date or that are later than the JTD date.

In addition to assignments that you make using the planning grids, Vantagepoint automatically assigns an employee with no planned hours to a plan work breakdown structure (WBS) element when the employee has JTD hours charged to that WBS element.

Find Resources Pane

Use the Find Resources pane to find and select the resources that you want to assign to projects or for which you want to enter or review planned hours. If the Find Resources pane is not visible to the left of the grid, click in the upper-left corner of the Resource View form to display it.

For descriptions of the fields and options in the pane, see Contents of the Find Resources Pane.

Click Actions to select one of these options.

Field Description
Check In Plans

Select this option to display the Check In Plans dialog box and check in one or more of the plans that are currently checked out.

When you select a WBS row in the grid, that project's entire plan is automatically checked out to you. While it is checked out, other users can view it but cannot make changes to it until it is checked back in. Vantagepoint automatically checks in plans when you select a WBS row for a different project, navigate to another part of Vantagepoint, log out of Vantagepoint, navigate to a different URL, use the browser's Refresh option, or close the browser. However, there may be situations in which you must use this option to manually check in plans.

Grid Options

Field Description
Forecast Range

Click next to this option to display the Change Forecast Range dialog box and define the range of calendar period columns that you want to display in the right grid section. The following settings determine the forecast range:

  • Scale: Indicate whether the calendar period columns represent days, weeks, or months.
  • Duration: Select the number of calendar period columns in the range. The options vary depending on the scale that you select. For example, if you set Scale to Weeks and set Duration to 8, then the grid displays eight columns, each containing planning data for a week.
  • Start date, week, or month: Select the first day, week, or month in the forecast range. The starting period must be after the JTD date or, if the columns are for weeks or months, contain at least one day after the JTD date. After you select the original start day, week, or month, Vantagepoint automatically shifts the forecast range forward as time passes. When the first calendar period is no longer in the future, Vantagepoint changes the first calendar period column to the next day, week, or month and shifts the other calendar period columns accordingly to preserve the same forecast range.
Hide if ETC is Zero Click next to this option to display the Hide if ETC is Zero dialog box, where you can filter out projects or resources that have no assigned hours in the selected forecast range.
The dialog box has two options:
  • Hide Resources with Range ETC = 0
  • Hide Projects with Range ETC = 0

The checkboxes in the individual drop-down fields are multi-select. Depending on the options you choose, the toolbar displays Resource, Project, Both, or None. By using this filter, you can simplify the Resource View screen so that it only displays resources and projects with planned hours in the selected forecast range.

Project Filter

Click next to this option to display the Filter Project dialog box. The selections that you make on this dialog box determine which projects display in the Resource View grid when you drill down from an employee or generic resource row. The checkboxes in the individual drop-down fields are multi-select (for example, Project Status = Active and/or Inactive and/or Dormant). If you make selections in multiple fields, only projects that satisfy all the selections are displayed in the grid (for example, Project Status = Active or Inactive AND Charge Type = Regular).

The employee or resource capacity is not affected by the selected filters. Any rows that would have contributed to the respective employee or generic resource's planned hours display in the Resource View grid as a separate read-only row titled Projects Excluded by Filter. This preserves the total planned hours, with or without filtering projects. If you later add a new assignment that does not meet the project filter criteria, when you click to search again or to reapply the project filter, that newly added project row is not displayed separately and the planned hours are added to the Projects Excluded by Filter row.

The following fields are available to filter projects:
  • Project Status: Select this option to filter projects by the project status values: Active, Inactive, and/or Dormant.
  • Charge Type: Select this option to filter projects by the project charge types: Regular, Promotional, and/or Overhead.
  • Project Manager: Select this option to filter projects by project manager name at each WBS level.
  • Project Organization Name: Select this option to filter projects by organization name at each WBS level.
  • Stage Step: Select this option to filter projects by where the project is in the stage process: Do Not Pursue, In Pursuit, Lost, and/or Won.
  • Stage: Select this option to filter projects by the current stage for the project, such as Awarded, Deferred, Lead, Lost, and/or Pending.
  • Probability: Select this option to filter projects by the probability percentage of winning the project.
Show Capacity

Click next to this option to select the type of values that you want to display in the calendar period columns:

  • Planned Hours: Select this option to show planned hours for the calendar period.
  • Schedule %: Select this option to show scheduled hours for the calendar period / Total available hours for the calendar period. The cell background color indicates the schedule status: gray (properly scheduled), blue (under-scheduled), red (over-scheduled).

Scheduled hours are planned hours for overhead projects, promotional projects, regular won projects, and any in-pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

  • Utilization %: Select this option to show billable planned hours for the calendar period / Total available hours for the calendar period. The cell background color indicates the utilization status: gray (properly utilized), blue (under-utilized), red (over-utilized).

Billable hours are planned hours for regular won projects and any in-pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

Generic resources do not have utilization percentages or scheduled percentages, so no values display for those resources if you select Scheduled % or Utilization %.

<#> Resources Selected

When you select one or more resources in the grid, the number of selections displays before this field. The count is updated as you select more resources or remove selections.

To select all the resource rows in the grid, click the checkbox to the left of this field. You can click this checkbox to clear all selections. If the grid contains more than 50 resources, you cannot use this checkbox.

To select resources individually, click the check box to the left of each one in the grid. To clear just your selected resources, click <#> Resources Selected and click Clear Selections in the info bubble.

Pin Selected

To add one or more resources in the grid to your set of pinned resources, select the checkboxes for those resources and click this option. You can then run additional searches and pin other resources that you want to work with. When you finish pinning resources, you can show all the pinned resources in the Resource View grid so that you can make assignments and enter planned hours.

+ Add Assignments

To assign work on a project to a group of resources, select the checkboxes for those resources in the Resource View grid and click this option to display the Add Assignments to Selected Resources dialog box.

This feature enables you to quickly get a plan started by assigning a group of resources to a project all at once. On the Add Assignments to Selected Resources dialog box, you can select all or some of the resources in the group and then assign those resources to one or more WBS elements. If necessary, you can, without closing the dialog box, select a different set of resources from the group and make different assignments for them. When you have made all assignments for the group of resources and the selected project, you save them all.

This option is not available until you select at least one resource. It is also not available if all the resources that you select in the grid are inactive or terminated. You can add assignments only for active resources.

Save as Search

To assemble a team of resources that you want to plan for as a group (a project management team, for example) and then save them as a saved search so you can easily display them in the Resource View in the future, select the resources in the Resource View grid and click this option. On the Save Selected dialog box, either specify a name for a new saved search or select an existing saved search to which you want to add the selected resources.

Pinned

To display the list of pinned resources on the Pinned dialog box, click this option. On the Pinned dialog box, you can click Show in Grid to display all the pinned resources in the Resource View grid.

The number of pinned resources displays next to this toolbar option.

Click this icon to display the Grid Settings dialog box and do any of the following:

  • Indicate how to group and sort resources in the grid.
  • Indicate how to sort WBS rows in the grid.
  • Select the summary columns that display in the middle section of the grid.

Grid Columns: Left Section

This section of the grid displays the resources returned by the search defined in the Find Resources panel and the WBS elements to which each resource was assigned.

To change the width of the left grid section, position your cursor over the dividing line between the left grid section and the middle grid section and then drag the line.

Field Description
Grouping option

If you select a grouping option on the Grid Settings dialog box, that option displays as the label of the first column in the upper section of the grid, and the name of each group displays below it in that column. Only groups to which at least one currently selected resource belongs are displayed.

Select a group row to display the resources in that group in the lower section of the grid. To change the relative sizes of the upper and lower grid sections, position your cursor over the double line that separates them. When the cursor changes to , click and drag the separator line up or down.

Resources Selected checkbox

Use the checkboxes in the first column of the grid to select rows that you want to pin, assign, or save.

To select all rows, select the Resources Selected checkbox at the left end of the Resource View toolbar. If more than 50 resources and WBS elements are selected for display in the grid, this checkbox is be disabled.

Plan availability icons When you select a WBS row, one of the following icons displays to the left of the top-level WBS element:
  • : The plan is now checked out to you, and you can edit plan information.
  • : You cannot edit plan information for the row because the plan is checked out to someone else, the plan has unpublished changes, or you do not have the necessary access rights to make changes to the plan.

Click the icon to display an explanation in an info bubble. If the plan is checked out, the info bubble provides the name and email address of the person who has it checked out. If your security role is an Administrator role, the info bubble also contains a link that you can click to check the plan back in and then check it out to yourself. If the plan has unpublished changes, the info bubble provides the name and email address of the project manager so that you can communicate with them about the plan.

Resource/Level

This column displays the resources returned by the search defined in the Find Resources panel and the plan WBS elements (elements from the project WBS and, optionally, labor codes) for which each resource has planned hours.

To assign work on a project to a single resource, click the resource row and then click in the Resource/Level field in the row to display the Add Assignments dialog box. If displays in this field where normally does, the resource is inactive or terminated or the WBS element is dormant. The Status column in the middle grid indicates the status for the currently selected WBS row (the project, phase, or task): (Active), (Inactive), (Dormant), or (Terminated).

You cannot add new assignments for an inactive or terminated resource or a dormant WBS element (or any elements under it in the WBS), but you can edit, delete, reassign, or reschedule existing assignments.

To assign multiple resources to work on the same project, select the checkbox for each of those resources in the Resource View grid and click + Add Assignments on the Resource View toolbar.

In addition to resource assignments that you add yourself, the grid may also include assignments for employees with no planned hours but with JTD hours charged to a lowest-level plan element. Vantagepoint creates those assignments automatically. If the relevant branch of the plan WBS either includes the labor code from the time record (exact match or wildcard match), or does not include that labor code but includes other labor codes, that resource assignment is made under the labor code level, based on the time record labor code and the labor code options specified for the plan. If the relevant branch of the plan WBS includes no labor codes, Vantagepoint assumes that you do not want to plan at the labor code level and makes the resource assignment under the lowest-level project WBS element, rather than under a labor code.

If the resource is an employee, click the employee name to display information about the employee on the Employee Card dialog box. If the assigned resource is a generic resource, click the resource name to display information about the resource in an info bubble.

In WBS rows, click the WBS element to display information about it. You can click the Open in Project View or Open in Projects link in the info bubble to leave Resource View and display the plan for the project in Project View or in the Projects hub.

Show less and Show more

Use these links at the top of the Resource/Level column to hide or show the summary columns that you have selected for display in the middle section of the grid. Hiding those columns provides space to display more detail columns.

If the summary columns are visible, click Show less to hide them. The link then changes to Show more, which you can click to display the summary columns again.

You can pin individual columns if you want them to display even when you click Show less. To do that, click next to the upper-right corner of the grid. On the Grid Settings dialog box, click to the right of those columns to pin them to the grid.

To assign work on a project to a single resource, do either of the following:
  • Hover over the resource row and click in the Resource/Level column in the row to display the Add Assignment dialog box. The dialog box displays the complete WBS for all projects to which the resource is currently assigned, and you can also select another project.
  • Click and/or hover over a WBS row and click in the Resource/Level column in the row to display the Add Assignment dialog box. The dialog box displays only the branch of the structure that includes that WBS and any lower-level WBS elements below it in the plan structure.

The does not display for a resource row if the resource is inactive or terminated, and it does not display for a WBS row if the WBS element or any element above it in the structure is dormant. You can add assignments only for active resources. You can add assignments for either active or inactive WBS elements.

Grid Columns: Middle Section

The columns described below are available for display in the middle section of the grid. Click next to the upper-right corner of the grid to select the columns that you want to view.

To change the width of the middle grid section, position your cursor over the dividing line between the middle grid section and the right grid section and then drag the line.

The following columns are displayed by default:

Field Description
Status

This column displays the status of the resource or WBS level: (Active), (Inactive), (Dormant), or (Terminated).

Has Predecessor This column displays a checkmark if the WBS level has at least one predecessor.
Plan Start

For a WBS row, this column displays the plan start date for the WBS element. If you need to change this date, do that in Project View.

Plan End

For a WBS row, this column displays the plan end date for the WBS element. If you need to change this date, do that in Project View.

Assignment Start

For a WBS row, this column displays the start date for that resource's assignment to the WBS element. On a row for a lowest-level WBS element, you can enter or select the date.

If you change this date and the assignment row has no planned hours, a message displays asking if you want to move the assignment end date as well, to preserve the same number of days between the two dates.

If you change this date and the assignment row has planned hours, the Reschedule dialog box displays so you can specify how you want the hours distributed when the assignment is rescheduled.

If you change this date in a way that places any part of the assignment date range outside of the plan date range for the row, a message displays asking if you also want to change the plan date range. Click Change Dates to have Vantagepoint adjust the plan dates to include the complete assignment date range.

Assignment End

For a WBS row, this column displays the end date for that resource's assignment to the WBS element. On a row for a lowest-level WBS element, you can enter or select the date.

Total Planned Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the sum of the resource's planned hours for that WBS element for the period from the assignment start date through the assignment end date.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's planned hours for all WBS elements.

JTD <date> Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the job-to-date (JTD) posted and unposted hours for the employee for that WBS element, through the JTD date. The JTD date displays as part of the column heading.

Total ETC Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the resource's estimate-to-complete (ETC) hours for that WBS element for the period from the assignment start date through the assignment end date. The ETC hours are planned hours for dates in the assignment range beginning the day after the JTD date.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for all WBS elements.

You can enter hours in this field for any WBS element at any level of the plan WBS. When you do, Vantagepoint allocates the hours to calendar periods for that assignment row. If you enter total ETC hours for a parent WBS element and then expand the WBS in the Resource View grid to display assignment rows at lower levels, Vantagepoint further allocates the hours to each calendar period for each lower-level row. Likewise, if you change the scale of the calendar period columns (from Days to Weeks, for example), Vantagepoint reallocates the hours for the new scale.

If you enter hours in this field, how the hours are allocated to the calendar period grid columns depends on whether or not ETC hours have already been entered in calendar period columns for the affected assignments:
  • If the range of dates to receive the allocations does not include days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each calendar period in proportion to the number of work days in the period. (Effectively, the summary hours are spread equally among all work days.)
  • If the range of dates to receive the allocations does include one or more days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each calendar period in proportion to its current number of ETC hours. Calendar periods that currently have no ETC hours receive no allocation.

This is the case whether or not the same scale is in effect when you enter the summary hours in this field as when you made the earlier explicit entry. Regardless of the scale involved, the allocation of summary hours always takes into account any explicitly entered ETC hours that fall within the date range of the allocation.

If the assignment date range includes no more work days that are later than the JTD date, you cannot enter summary hours in this field.

EAC Hours This column displays the estimate-at-completion (EAC) hours for the WBS elements and resources: JTD hours + ETC hours.

In addition to the columns displayed by default, you can add the following additional columns from the Grid Settings dialog box:

Field Description
Booking

This column displays the booking status of each row. If your security role is configured to allow you to hard book assignments, you can select a different booking status for WBS rows. Changing booking status for an assignment does not change any calculated values, nor does it affect your ability to make changes to the assignment dates or hours or to reassign it.

What displays in this column, as well as whether or not you can change the booking status, depends on the type of row:
  • On a resource row, this column displays Hard if all assignments for the resource are hard booked, Soft if all are soft booked, and Blend if the assignments are a mix of hard and soft booked assignments. You cannot set a booking value at the resource level.
  • On a WBS row that is not for a lowest-level element, this column displays Hard if all assignments for the WBS element are hard booked, Soft if all are soft booked, and Blend if the assignments are a mix of hard and soft booked assignments. To change the booking status for all assignments for that WBS element, click the current booking status and select either Hard or Soft.
  • On a WBS row for a lowest-level element, this column displays Hard if the assignment is hard booked or Soft if it is soft booked. To change the booking status for that assignment, click the current booking status and select either Hard or Soft.
  • On a WBS row for a lowest-level element that has JTD hours but no planned hours, the Booking column is blank, and you cannot select a booking status

If Vantagepoint is not configured to use soft and hard booking, this column is not available for display.

Charge Type

This column displays the project charge type: Regular, Promotional, or Overhead.

Has Successor This column displays a checkmark if the WBS level has at least one successor.
Probability

This column displays the probability percentage of winning the project.

Project Manager

This column displays the project manager's name.

Project Organization Name If you have implemented organizations in Vantagepoint, this column displays the name of the organization to which the project is assigned.
Project Status

This column displays the status of the project: Active, Inactive, or Dormant.

Range Available Hours

This column displays the employee's available hours for the forecast range: Number of working days in the range x Employee's hours per day.

This column is blank for generic resources and for WBS elements.

Range ETC Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the resource's ETC hours for that assignment for the forecast range. The ETC hours are planned hours for dates in the forecast range beginning the day after the JTD date.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for all WBS assignments for the forecast range.

You can enter hours in this field for any WBS element at any level of the plan WBS. When you do, Vantagepoint allocates the hours to calendar periods for that assignment row that are within the forecast range. If you enter range ETC hours for a parent WBS element and then expand the WBS in the Resource View grid to display rows at lower levels, Vantagepoint further allocates the hours to each calendar period for each lower-level row. Likewise, if you change the scale of the calendar period columns (for example, from Days to Weeks), Vantagepoint reallocates the hours for the new scale.

This is the case whether or not the same scale is in effect when the you enter the summary hours in this field as when you made the earlier explicit entry. Regardless of the scale involved, the allocation of summary hours always takes into account any explicitly entered ETC hours that fall within the date range of the allocation.

If the forecast range includes no work days for the assignment that are later than the JTD date, you cannot enter summary hours in this field.

Range Planned Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the sum of the resource's planned hours for that WBS element for the forecast range.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's planned hours for all WBS elements for the forecast range.

Range Utilization Hours

For a WBS row, this column displays the sum of the resource's utilization hours for that WBS element for the forecast range.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's utilization hours for all WBS elements for the forecast range.

Utilization hours are planned billable hours: planned hours for won projects and for in pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the utilization calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

Scheduled %

This column displays the percent scheduled for an employee: Scheduled hours for the forecast range / Available hours for the forecast range.

Scheduled hours are planned hours for overhead projects, promotional projects, regular won projects, and regular in pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

This column is blank for generic resources and for WBS elements.

Stage

This column displays the current stage for the project, such as Awarded, Deferred, Lead, Lost, or Pending.

Stage Step

This column displays where the project is in the stage process: Do Not Pursue, In Pursuit, Lost, or Won.

Utilization %

This column displays the employee's utilization percentage: Billable planned hours for the forecast range / Available hours for the forecast range.

Billable planned hours are planned hours for won projects and for in pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

This column is blank for generic resources and for WBS elements.

Utilization Target

This column displays the employee's target percentage of available hours to be worked on billable projects.

This column is blank for generic resources and for WBS elements.

Grid Columns: Right Section

This grid section displays ETC hours for the forecast range and calendar periods you select.

Field Description
ETC Before

For a WBS row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for that WBS element for dates after the JTD date and before the start date of the first calendar period column in the forecast range.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for all WBS elements for dates before the start date of the first calendar period column in the forecast range.

You can enter hours in this field for any WBS element at any level of the WBS. If you enter hours for a parent WBS element and then expand the WBS in the Resource View grid to display WBS rows at lower levels, Vantagepoint further allocates the hours to each lower-level row. How the hours are allocated to lower-level rows depends on whether or not ETC hours have already been entered in calendar period columns for the affected assignments:
  • If the range of dates that are after the JTD date and before the start date of the first calendar period column in the forecast range does not include days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each lower-level row in proportion to the number of remaining work days for that row.
  • If the range of dates that are after the JTD date and before the start date of the first calendar period column in the forecast range does include one or more days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each lower-level row in proportion to its current number of ETC hours.

If the day following the JTD date falls within the date range for the first calendar period column, no ETC hours exist for dates prior to the forecast range, so this column does not display.

Calendar period columns

Use the calendar period columns in the third grid section to view planned hours at the resource level by day, week, or month and to enter or view planned hours for days, weeks, or months on the WBS rows. You can enter hours for any WBS element at any level of the WBS. If you enter hours for a parent WBS element and lower-level WBS elements are displayed, Vantagepoint allocates those hours to the calendar period field for each lower-level WBS row.

The forecast range that you specify on the Change Forecast Range dialog box determines the time frame each calendar period column represents. For example, if you set Scale to Weeks, set Duration to 8, and set Start Week to July 1, 2022, the grid displays eight calendar period columns, each column represents a week, and the first calendar period column is for the week that contains July 1, 2022.

Using the options in Show Capacity above the grid, you can also display utilization percentages and scheduled percentages for employees in these columns. (Generic resources do not have utilization percentages or scheduled percentages.) The values in calendar period columns are calculated and displayed as follows, based on your selection in Show Capacity:
  • Planned hours: Planned hours for the calendar period for the resource or WBS element.
  • Schedule percentage: Schedule percentage for the employee: Scheduled hours for the calendar period / Total available hours for the calendar period. Cell background color indicates schedule status: gray (properly scheduled), blue (under-scheduled), red (over-scheduled). Generic resource rows are blank, and WBS rows display planned hours.

Scheduled hours are planned hours for overhead projects, promotional projects, regular won projects, and any in pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

  • Utilization percentage: Utilization percentage for the employee: Billable planned hours for the calendar period / Total available hours for the calendar period. The cell background color indicates utilization status: gray (properly utilized), blue (under-utilized), red (over-utilized). Generic resource rows are blank, and WBS rows display planned hours.

Billable hours are planned hours for regular won projects and any in pursuit projects that meet the criteria for inclusion in the percentage calculation that are specified on the Plan Settings form (Settings > Resource Planning > Plan Settings).

For the WBS level rows, bold values in the calendar columns indicate that the hours for the period are hard booked, and italic values indicate they are either all soft booked or a mix of soft-booked hours and hard-booked hours.

You can display columns only for calendar periods that are after the JTD date. However, if a calendar period date range includes at least one day that is later than the JTD date, you can enter planned hours for the resource for that period. To do that, click in that calendar period column to display a drop-down dialog box that shows both the hours for past days in the period and the current ETC hours. You can enter or change the ETC hours. The grid cell then displays the updated sum of the past hours and ETC hours.

If you set up multiple companies in Vantagepoint, you can display plans for projects from more than one company in Resource View. Each of those companies could have different starting days for their work weeks. Because of that, Resource View always uses the starting day of the week that is specified for the user's currently active company.

ETC After

For a WBS row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for that WBS element after the end date of the last calendar period column in the forecast range.

For a resource row, this column displays the sum of the resource's ETC hours for dates after the end date of the last calendar period column in the forecast range.

  • If the range of dates from the day following the end date of the last calendar period column in the forecast range through the assignment end date includes no days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each lower-level row in proportion to the number of remaining work days for that row.
  • If the range of dates from the day following the end date of the last calendar period column in the forecast range through the assignment end date does include one or more days, weeks, or months for which ETC hours have been explicitly entered for any of the affected assignments, the hours are allocated to each lower-level row in proportion to its current number of ETC hours.

Row Options

Field Description
This icon displays at the end of the row when you click or hover over a grid row. Click the icon to select one of these actions for that row:
  • Add Assignments: Use the Add Assignments dialog box to add one or more assignments for the resource. This option is available for the resource row or for WBS rows that are not at the lowest level of the structure.
  • Reschedule: Use the Reschedule dialog box to change one or both assignment dates for a WBS row with planned hours. When you change assignment dates, you also indicate how to distribute the planned hours within the new schedule.
  • Reassign: Use the Reassign dialog box to reassign all or part of the planned hours for a WBS row to another resource. This option is available only for WBS rows with planned hours.
  • Delete: Delete a single resource assignment for a lowest-level WBS element or delete all assignments for lower-level WBS elements under a parent WBS element.
