  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Billing Transfers and QuickBooks Integration

Billing transfers that you make in Vantagepoint for expense and unit costs are updated in QuickBooks Online.

Billing transfers move expense and unit costs on unposted invoices from one project to another or within a project to reclassify project costs.

Entering a Billing Transfer for Expenses or Units in Vantagepoint

You enter billing transfers in Vantagepoint Billing > Interactive Billing using the Transfer action on the grid toolbar on the Expenses and Units tabs of the Interactive Billing form.

When you enter a billing transfer, Vantagepoint automatically posts a transaction for the appropriate projects affected and the general ledger accounts involved. You can see the postings in Transaction Center > Posting Review for the Billing expense transfer and Billing unit transfer transaction types. Project reports and financial reports reflect the transferred information.

Billing Transfers for Expenses or Units Added to QuickBooks Online

The billing transfers from Vantagepoint are added to QuickBooks Online as follows:

  • For expense transfers, vendor expenses are updated in Expenses > Vendors in QuickBooks Online.

    Example: You entered expenses in Vantagepoint for vendor A that were applied to project 1 (client 1). In Vantagepoint, you transfer these expenses to project 2 (client 2). In QuickBooks Online, you will still see these expenses for vendor A, but they will now be associated with project 2 (client 2).

  • For unit transfers, you see journal entries for the transferred units in the following locations in QuickBooks Online:
    • Reports > Accountant Reports > Journal
    • Search (magnifying glass icon in the toolbar) > Advanced Search: In the transactions search field, select Journal Entries
    • Accounting > Chart of Accounts

Labor Transfers

Labor transfers that you enter in Interactive Billing in Vantagepoint do not get added to QuickBooks Online. If you enter a labor transfer in Vantagepoint, you must manually make the equivalent entry in QuickBooks Online.
