Initialize the Sync of Hub Records to PIM

When you have resolved all record errors and successfully validated hub record information, you can proceed with the initialization process that syncs all validated records from Vantagepoint to PIM for the first time.

You only have to run this process until you successfully initialize the validated hub records to PIM. You can do this process multiple times.

After this, you can use the Setup tab to configure succeeding sync processes, which you do via the Schedule dialog box.

To initialize Vantagepoint validated hub records to sync to PIM for the first time:

  1. In the Navigation pane in Vantagepoint, select Utilities > Integrations > PIM.
  2. On the Project Information Management form, click the Initialization tab.
  3. Run the validation process to make sure that all selected hub records are compatible with the fields in PIM.

  4. When all selected hub records are successfully validated, click Initialize > Initialize.
  5. When you receive a prompt asking that you reconfirm the action, click Yes.
  6. Enter the details for the date and time on which you want to run the initialization process.

    If errors encountered during the initialization process, click Initialize > Initialization Status to launch the PIM Initialization Errors dialog box, so that you can review the error details for all records.

    You can also click individual initialization results links to see error details that are specific to each type of hub record.

  7. If necessary, make adjustments and run the initialization again until all record issues are resolved.

    You can also reset an existing initialization process that may be stuck. To do this, press and hold the CTRL key and click Initialize. When you choose to proceed, you must enter a password that you can obtain from Deltek Support Services.

  8. Click Save.
