Invoice File for a Billing Session
When you generate and process invoices during a billing session in Interactive Billing or Batch Billing or create credit memos in Draft Invoice Approvals, you specify an invoice file in which to store the invoice transactions for posting.
You enter a new file or select an existing invoice file on the Invoice File Selection dialog box that opens from various places in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, and Draft Invoice Approvals.
In Interactive Billing an invoice file can contain invoices, credit memos, voided invoices, and retainage invoices.
In Batch Billing, you use an invoice file when you process a Final run type to final accept and create the final invoices.
In Draft Invoice Approvals, you use an invoice file when you create a credit memo from the Invoice History tab.
After you process invoices in Interactive Billing, Batch Billing, or Draft Invoice Approvals, you post the invoice file in

Use this dialog box to select an existing invoice file, or to create a new invoice file, in which to store the invoices that you are processing for a billing session in Interactive Billing or Batch Billing. You also use this dialog box to select an invoice file when you add a credit memo in the Draft Invoice Approvals form in the Projects hub.
