Set the Indent for the First Column

You can set an indent for the first column of data if you want that column indented or offset from the left margin of the page. Use this setting if you want to group fields and indent the columns under the group.

To determine the position of the first column, Vantagepoint adds your entry in Indent First Column to the entry in Left Margin on the Layout tab. For example, if you use inches and Left Margin contains 1.00 and Indent First Column contains .25, Vantagepoint prints the report header information with a 1.00-inch margin but prints the first column 1.25 inches from the left edge of the page.

To set the indent for the first column:

  1. Click either the Columns tab or Columns & Groups tab.
  2. In the Indent First Column on the Group Options section, enter the number of inches or millimeters that you want the first column indented from the left margin.
You enter inches or millimeters based on which one you selected in the Unit of Measure field on the Layout tab. If you use inches, use decimals for fractions of an inch (for example 0.25 or 1.20).

You can also override default margins and set new margins for report pages as a whole on the Layout tab of the report. For more information, Set Margins.
