Define Document Properties

Use the Document Properties pane to define the properties for the entire proposal. These default properties apply to all pages in the proposal and originate from your user preferences. The only properties that do not apply are those for which individual page properties were established (for pages that require different formatting).

Prerequisite: In the Navigation pane, select Proposals > Custom Proposals and then create a new proposal or open an existing proposal.

To define document properties:

  1. In the Settings pane, click Properties and then click Document Properties.
  2. In the Document Properties pane, use Paper Size to specify the size of the pages, such as letter, legal, or a custom page size.
  3. Select the page orientation.
  4. Specify the top, bottom, left, and right margins.

If your unit of measure is inches, use decimals for fractions of an inch (for example, 0.75 or 1.20).

  5. Select to use headers, footers, and alternate pages.
These items repeat on the pages of your proposal.
  6. If you use headers or footers and want to create different content for them on even and odd pages, use the Alternate even/odd pages option.
  7. Set Unit of Measure to inches or millimeters, to determine the unit for the measurement fields in the Document Properties and Page Properties panes.
  8. On the Actions bar, click Save.
