Make a Transaction or a Transaction File Recurring

Make a transaction or a transaction file a recurring one if you will be creating and posting it on a regular basis.

When a recurring transaction or transaction file is created, or when a recurring journal entry is posted, Vantagepoint creates a copy of the transaction or file for the next period instead of using the same item from one period to the next.

To make a transaction or transaction file recurring:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Transaction Center > Transaction Entry.
  2. Select the type of transaction file that you want to make a recurring one such as Journal Entries or AP Vouchers.
  3. On the main form of the selected transaction type, select the transaction or transaction file that you want to make a recurring one.
  4. At the end of the row of the selected transaction or file, click or > View Details.
  5. On the Actions bar of the transaction entry form, click Other Actions > Make Recurring.

If you are modifying a transaction file, when you make it recurring, all the transactions in the file automatically becomes recurring, too.

If the transaction or transaction file that is being made recurring is a journal entry, the Recurring Journal Entry dialog box appears. You can set how often the transaction will recur and other options.
