Custom Integration Utility
Use this utility to manage import and export tasks by accounting period.
Import and export tasks add data (via files) to and from Vantagepoint and third party software.
- Import tasks are the tasks you complete using the existing import functionality in in the desktop application. The import utility adds data from third party software to Vantagepoint via an import file.
- Export tasks are the tasks you complete in the Exports utility in with user-defined data export definitions. The export definitions export Vantagepoint data to a file that you can use to import the data to third party software.
You create individual custom integrations and assign export and/or import tasks to them.
- You assign one or more import tasks to a custom integration by assigning import table names from the Desktop Imports application.
- You assign one or more export tasks to a custom integration by assigning data export definitions from the Exports utility.
For example, you could set up a custom integration for Sage 200 to create export files for importing Vantagepoint data to Sage 200 on a regular basis.
Use an existing custom integration in a specified accounting period to do the following:
- View the status of import tasks.
- Export Vantagepoint data for an individual data export definition or multiple data export definitions at a time. You can export data from either the Export utility or the Custom integration utility. However, the Custom integration utility allows you to export multiple data export definitions at a time and view information by accounting period.
- View the status of each export task to see whether it was run, not run, or it failed.
