Users Form

Use this form to view and manage all users who are currently saved in PPM Administrator.

You can add users manually or import them from Active Directory or via a .CSV file using this form. In addition, you can create their profiles and assign PPM products to them. For more information on adding or importing users and other related tasks, see the How to... chapter.

Note: The user's primary role is used to identify what a user can do. Securable nodes in the role typically align with the menu options, but they also specify whether you can edit certain types of data within a project. For example, the user's primary role allows for different rights among users within a group.

You can set your preferred default form when opening the application using the My Preferences dialog box. For more information, see Set the Preferred Application View.

The Users form displays in two views, which define how PPM Administrator displays user records. Click to switch to the list view and click to return to the detail view.

Detail View

When you click SECURITY > Users, you can view and edit the information for a single record. It also allows you to set up detailed information for new users on the General, Address, Groups, Data, Products, and Authentication tabs. For more information , see the Users Detail View section.

In Detail View, the active user displays below the header. You can search for other users by entering characters in the Find field located at the top, or clicking the down arrow to search all available information. The application searches for entries in the following fields: First Name, Last Name, User ID. Moreover, the search navigation buttons beside the Find field indicate the user you are viewing and the total number of users in the system. To move through the users, click the previous and next buttons. For more information, see the Use the Find Field section.

List View

When you switch to this view, the Users form displays all available user records in a grid. You can add, remove, or change the order of the columns in the grid. You can also export the data in the gird as a .CSV file and download it. For more information , see the Users List View section.

Attention: For more information about the common buttons and options, see the Learning the Basics chapter.
