Add a Data Source

Use this procedure to create a new data source or database connection.

To add a data source:

  1. In the PPM Datasource Management Tool dialog box, click Add.
  2. In the Add Data Source dialog box, perform the following on the General tab:
    • In the Name field, enter a name for the new data source.
    • In the Schema field, enter the database schema.
    • In the Provider list, select a data provider to connect your data with, and click Configure.
  3. Click OK to close the Data Link Properties dialog box or the Connection Properties dialog box.
  4. In the Add Data Source dialog box, you can perform the following on the Advanced tab:
    • In the Database in Unicode option, you can clear the selection.
    • In the Extended Properties field, you can set extended data source properties.
  5. In the Add Data Source dialog box, click OK to close the dialog box and complete the process.
    The newly defined data source displays in the Data Sources list
