Publish Documents in Internet Explorer

You can publish one or more documents to the DMS through the Working Files dashpart in Internet Explorer. If you select to publish multiple documents in one go, all documents are published to the same document pool(s), and linked to the same attributes. After you publish the documents, they are removed from your PC.

Prerequisite: Before you can publish documents in Internet Explorer, you must add them to your Working Files. For information, see Add a Document to Working Files.

To publish documents in Internet Explorer:

  1. Navigate to the Personal Zone.
  2. On the Working Files dashpart, select each document that you want to publish to the DMS.
If the Working Files dashpart is not displayed, click to add it.
Tip: You can also publish documents on the Documents tab on an entity record, such as a project or organization. When you publish documents from an entity record, the entity is automatically assigned as an attribute.
  3. On the dashpart header, click .
  4. On the Publish Document window, select one or more document pools to publish the document to.
Note: You can only select document pools that have no child pools.
  5. In the Select Attributes pane, select one or more entity records to link the document to.
For example, if a document pool is associated with the project attribute, you can select a project to link the document to. This allows members on the project to access the document from the Documents tab on the project record. An asterisk (*) on an attribute indicates that you must select an entity record.
  6. Optional: Modify the document title and version number, if required.
  7. Optional: Click Next to step through the wizard to add document details, add people as email recipients to receive the document after you publish it, and assign actions against the document.
  8. When you are ready to publish the document, click Finish.

You can also publish documents in the Information Zone using the Working Files tab in Classic View, or the Working Files option in Smart View.
