  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.

  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Configuration Subtask of Manufacturing BOM

Use this subtask to customize bills of material for a given parent part by using configuration IDs and effective dates.

You can use configuration IDs to record variations of a Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) for a given part or part/revision without using a different part or revision number. After an item is in inventory, it is considered the same as all other parts with the same part/revision combination, regardless of the configuration under which the part was built.

Configurations are used for planning purposes only, and are established on the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen. In change or display mode, you can view an MBOM's specific configuration or an MBOM as of a specific date, as well as all configurations/effectivities for a given parent. The items on this subtask are enabled only if you selected the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

Field Description
Show All Configurations

Select this check box before clicking to see all components of the parent part. If this check box is clear, the display is based on the as-of date and the configuration ID that you enter.

As of Date

Enter, or click to select, the MBOM component effective date, before clicking . You can record variations in the MBOM of a part by using effective dates. This option is available whether or not you allow the use of configuration IDs. If you enter an As of Date in change/display mode, the application loads only those lines with effective starting and ending dates corresponding to the As of Date. If the Effective Ending Date field is blank, the second criterion is ignored. The As of Date field is the default value for the effective starting date for all new component lines.

Configuration

Enter, or click to select, the configuration ID for this BOM. This optional field must be a valid configuration ID from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

Filter

Click this button to filter MBOM component lines based on the configuration criteria.
