  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Copy Master Production Schedules Screen

Use the fields and options to configure the Copy Master Production Schedules screen.

Selection Ranges

From Forecasts

Field Description
MPS Plan

Enter, or click to select, the code of the MPS plan from which you want to copy forecast data. (You identify the plan to which you are copying this data in the corresponding MPS Plan field in the To Forecasts group box.)

Enter P (for Production) if you want to copy data from the official production plan. Enter a different code to copy data from a "what-if" scenario.

Part/Rev

Use these options to specify which inventory abbreviations to copy MPS forecast requirements from.

Field Description
Option

From the drop-down list, select the range of parts/part revisions to be included. Valid options are:

  • One
  • All
  • Range
  • From Beginning
  • To End
Start

Enter, or click to select, the part ID or part revision that is the starting point of the range of parts to copy MPS forecasts from. If you select All or From Beginning in the Option field, this field is not available.

If you do not select One as the Option setting, Costpoint automatically uses the part/revision from the original forecast requirement on the new record generated from it.

This field is disabled if the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item check box is not selected on the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Product Definition Settings screen.

End

Enter, or click to select, the part ID or part revision that is the ending point of the range of parts to copy MPS forecasts from. If you select All, One, or To End in the Option field, this field is not available.

This field is disabled if the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item check box is not selected on the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Product Definition Settings screen.

Include Product Family

Select this check box to copy product family parts linked to this MPS part. (A product family is defined by all item products with the same MPS Planning Part on the Manage Item Billings screen in Product Definition.)

This option is available only if you select One as the Start Option. If you select the Include Product Family check box, Costpoint uses the part/revision from the original forecast requirement on the new record generated from it.

Inventory Abbrev

Use these options to specify which inventory abbreviations to copy MPS forecast requirements from.

If you do not select One as the Option, you cannot specify an Inventory Abbrev in the To Forecasts group box. Costpoint uses the inventory abbreviation from the original forecast requirement on the new record generated from it.

Start

Enter, or click to select, the inventory abbreviation that is the starting point of the range. If you select All or From Beginning in the Option field, this field is not available.

End

Enter, or click to select, the inventory abbreviation that is the end point of the range. If you select One (the default), All, or To End in the Option field, this field is not available.

Forecast Need Date

Use these options to specify forecast need dates to copy MPS forecasts from.

Field Description

From the drop-down list, select the range of inventory abbreviations to be included. Valid options are:

  • One
  • All
  • Range
  • From Beginning
  • To End

If you select All as the Option, you cannot specify a Starting Forecast Need Date for the new forecast records. Costpoint uses the need date from the original forecast requirement on the new record generated from it.

Start

Enter the date that is the starting point of the range. If you select All or From Beginning in the Option field, this field is not available.

End

Enter the date that is the end point of the range. If you select All or From Beginning in the Option field, this field is not available.

Warehouse

If you selected the Plan Warehouse Separately option (on the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Material Requirements Planning Settings screen), Costpoint plans supply and demand records separately for each warehouse.

If the Plan Warehouse Separately option is not selected, Costpoint does not plan supply and demand by warehouse and this option is not available to you.

Use the options in this group box to specify which warehouses to copy MPS forecasts from.

Enter, or click to select, the warehouse that is the end point of the range. If you select All, One, or To End in the Option field, this field is not available.

Generate

To Forecasts

Field Description
MPS Plan

Enter, or click to select, the code of the MPS plan to which you are copying forecast data.

Enter P (for Production) if you want to copy data to the official production plan. Enter a different code to copy data to a "what-if" scenario.

Overwrite Existing Forecasts

Select this check box if you want Costpoint to overwrite any existing forecast data for the MPS plan with forecast data from the plan named at the top of the screen, in the MPS Plan field within the From Forecasts group box.

  • If you select this check box, Costpoint replaces all existing forecast rows for the to part, inventory abbreviation, and warehouse within the copied-to date range.
  • If you do not select this check box, any new forecast record that matches an existing forecast row is not loaded to the Review Copied MPS Forecasts subtask. Instead, the original forecast is displayed and flagged with Y in the Row Already Exists column, and you cannot manually modify the data in the Review Copied MPS Forecasts subtask.
Part

Enter, or click to select, the part to which MPS forecasts are copied. If you leave this field blank, the copied value is used.

This field is disabled if the Part/Rev Option does not equal One, or if the Include Product Family Parts check box is selected (the part/revision on any copied forecast requirement is included in the new forecast records).

Rev

Enter, or click to select, the part revision to which MPS forecasts are copied.

This field is disabled if the Part/Rev Option equals One, or if the Include Product Family Parts check box is selected.

This field is disabled if the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item option is not selected on the Corporate Settings block of the Configure Product Definition Settings screen.

Inventory Abbrev

Enter, or click to select, the inventory abbreviation to which MPS forecasts are copied. If you leave this field blank, the copied value is used.

This field is disabled if the Inv Abbrev Option does not equal One.

Starting Forecast Need Date

Enter, or click to select, the starting forecast need date to copy MPS forecasts to. If you leave this field blank, the existing dates are used.

This field is disabled if the Forecast Need Date Option equals All.

If you enter a starting date, new records are based on the difference between the From Forecast Need Date and the earliest need date for the forecasts being copied. For instance, if you entered a starting need date of July 1, 2008 and the earliest need date of the copied forecast requirements is January 1, 2008, Costpoint adds six months to the original record's need date for each new forecast requirement row.

If you do not specify a date in this field, the process does not select any past due forecast requirements.

Warehouse

Enter, or click to select, the warehouse to which MPS forecasts are copied. If you leave this field blank, the copied value is used.

This field is disabled if the Warehouse Option is not One.

Subtask

Subtask Description
Review Copied MPS Forecasts Click this link to access the Review Copied MPS Forecasts subtask, where you can review all data before committing the modifications to the database.

You must complete the process successfully in order to see data on the review subtask.
