EBOM Comp Subtask

This subtask displays all component parts for the provisional assembly part in an unreleased Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) assembly on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

The EBOM assembly's component parts can consist of both standard and provisional parts. Only single-level BOM explosions from the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen are shown for this assembly (provisional) part.

Contents

Field Description
Comp Line

This field displays the line number for the component part from the table window on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Find No

This field displays the find number for the component part from the table window on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Component Part

This field displays the component part that is used to create an EBOM assembly for the provisional (assembly) part. A component part on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen can be a provisional or standard part, and may also be the assembly part in an EBOM assembly with its own group of separate components (that is, the EBOM Exists field is Y). This constitutes a multi-level EBOM.

Component Rev

This field displays the latest revision number for the component part on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen. If the Allow Multiple Revisions For Each Item check box is selected in the Corporate Settings block on the Configure Product Definition Settings and multiple revisions exist for the part, this field displays the applicable revision number. If the Allow Multiple Revisions For Each Item check box is not selected, only the last revision of the part displays.

Component Description

This field displays the description of the component part.

Provisional Part Type

If the component part is a provisional part, this field displays the provisional part type This field is blank for standard parts.

Comp Type

This field displays the component type code from the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen:

  • B: Buy w/Comp
  • S: Standard
  • P: Phantom
  • R: Reference
  • T: Tool
  • D: Deleted
Qty Type

This field displays the quantity type code that determines how component requirements are calculated in the EBOM:

  • A: Per assembly. Costpoint multiplies the component quantity by the number of assemblies to be created.
  • O: Per order. Costpoint requires a fixed component quantity for each assembly manufacturing order.
  • R: As required. Costpoint does not generate component requirements for this assembly.
Quantity

This field displays the quantity of the component part required for the assembly EBOM.

Inv U/M

This field displays the inventory unit of measure for the component from the Manage Parts screen for standard parts, or the Manage Provisional Parts screen for provisional parts.

Comp M/B

This field displays M if the component part is a make part, or B if it is a buy part. You can modify the make/buy status for the component line on the Engineering BOMs subtask of the Manage Parts screen or the Release Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Release

This field displays Y (Yes) if this component part is released, or N (No) if it is not released. You cannot release provisional parts in an EBOM until you convert them to standard parts using the Convert Provisional Parts to Standard Parts screen.

Release Date

This field displays the date and time the component was released on this EBOM if the Release field is Y. Otherwise, this field is null.

EBOM Exists

This field displays Y (Yes) if the component is a subassembly, or N (No) if not.

EBOM Status

This field displays the release status of the EBOM for a component if it is a subassembly. If the part has its own BOM assembly (EBOM Exists is Y), this field displays the release status for that assembly level. If EBOM Exists is N, this field is null.

Config

This field displays the configuration ID for the component line, if any, on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Config Desc

This field displays the description of the configuration ID for the component line, if any, on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Eff Start Dt

This field displays the date when the component part takes effect in the component line for the EBOM.

Eff End Dt

This field displays the date when the component part ceases being effective in the component line for the EBOM.

Comp Comments

This field displays any notes or comments associated with the component from the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Last ECN

This field displays the ID of the last ECN to affect this part.

Scrap %

This field displays the percentage (from 0.00 to 999.99) of this component that you expect to lose when manufacturing this assembly. This value is established on the Planning Details subtask of the Manage Parts screen for standard parts or on the Order Policy tab (in the Default Scrap % field) for provisional parts; but you can modify it for an EBOM on the Manage Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Stop Expl

This field displays Y (Yes) if the BOM explosion should proceed to the next lower level of the subassembly, or N (No) if not.

Omit Reqmts

This field displays Y (Yes) if the component's quantity requirements are to be omitted during the BOM explosion, or N (No) if not.

Comp Part Status

This field displays the part status of the component. If the part has its own EBOM assembly (where the EBOM Exists field is Y), this field displays the Part Status for that EBOM subassembly. If the EBOM Exists field is N (no subassembly exists), this field displays the part status from the Manage Parts screens for standard parts. This field displays Provisional for provisional component parts.
