Use this screen to selectively release multiple manufacturing bills of materials (MBOMs). This screen displays all standard part assemblies with an MBOM release status of Unreleased or Partially Released in both the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material and Release Manufacturing Bills of Material screens. You can modify the MBOM status and the part status of the assembly in the MBOM Status and Part Status fields in the table window. The data is sorted in assembly part/revision order.
Use this field to enter, or use to select, the assembly part for which this MBOM is being maintained.
This field displays this assembly part's revision.
This field displays this assembly part's description.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the assembly part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:
Unrestricted — The part is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted — The part is subject to data security restrictions and that you are authorized to access detailed part information.
***UNAUTHORIZED*** — The part is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
Use this drop-down list to select the release status of the MBOM for the assembly part. The available options are:
Released
Partially Released
Unreleased
You must first set the Part Status field to Released, Obsolete, or Phase-out before you can set this field to Released.
If you set this field to Released and non-subassembly, unreleased component parts exist (the Component MBOM Status and Comp Released field are both N in the Components subtask) whose Part Status is Released, Obsolete, or Phase-out, Costpoint displays a message asking whether you would like to release these components. Select OK to do so, and the components will be released only when the record is saved (the Comp Released column will be set to Y).
If you change this field to Released and try to save the record while the Component BOM Status is Unreleased, Costpoint displays a warning indicating that the MBOM cannot be released (along with a list of the components' part/revision numbers) because the component part is an unreleased subassembly. You must change the Component MBOM Status to Released in the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Material screen.
Use this drop-down list to select the release status of this assembly part. The available options are:
Pre-Release
Released
Phase-Out
Estimating
Obsolete
The value in this field is linked to the Part Status Type field in the Manage Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition and to the Part Status fields in the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material and Release Manufacturing Bills of Material screens.
The assembly part's status must be Obsolete, Released, or Phase-Out before you can set the MBOM Status field to Released.
This field displays this assembly part's type. The various types are:
Buy with Components
Standard
Phantom
Reference
Tool
This field displays the inventory unit of measure for this assembly part.
This field displays Y (Yes) if this assembly part is a subassembly. Otherwise, this field displays N (No). If this field is Y, the table window below lists component parts as they display in a separate EBOM assembly.
This field displays the Make if this assembly part is manufactured or Buy if it is purchased.
If selected, this check box indicates that the component release flag will be set to Y when assembly is released. This option will only be available if you choose to make assembly’s MBOM Status to Released.
If selected, this check box indicates that the MBOMs are automatically released at lower-levels if a higher level assembly is released. This option will only be available if you choose to make assembly’s MBOM Status to Released.
This field displays miscellaneous information about this assembly part.
This field displays the date and time of the most recent modification made to this assembly part.
This field displays the user ID of the individual who made the most recent modification to this assembly part.
This system-maintained field displays the code representing the method used for the most recent modification to the MBOM. This field displays one of the following codes:
Manual (M) — This indicates that a user-defined modification has occurred for the MBOM record on either the Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material or Release Manufacturing Bills of Material screen.
ECN-Engineering Change Notice (E) — This indicates that a modification has occurred for the MBOM record as it relates to Costpoint Engineering Change Notices.
Clone MBOM (C) — This indicates that the MBOM was copied from another existing MBOM using the clone function.
Perform Mass Component Change (S) — This indicates that a mass component modification has occurred for this MBOM record on the Apply Mass Component Changes to Bills of Material screen.
Provisional Part Conversion (V) — This indicates that a provisional part has been converted to a standard part using the Convert Provisional Parts to Standard Parts screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
Copy from EBOM (G) — This indicates that the MBOM is copied from an engineering bill of material (EBOM) using the Copy Bills of Material screen.
Copy from PBOM (H) — This indicates that the MBOM is copied from a proposal bill of material (PBOM) using the Copy Bills of Material screen.
Maintain Part–Create New Part (N) — This indicates that a new part has been created.
BOM Preprocessor (P) — This indicates that modifications have occurred using the preprocessor.
This field displays the user ID of the individual who first entered the assembly into the system.
If the selected part exists as an EBOM assembly part, this field displays if that EBOM is Released or Unreleased. If this assembly part is not an EBOM part, this field displays Not applicable.
If the EBOM Release Status field displays Released, this field displays the date and time on which the EBOM was released. If the EBOM Release Status field displays Not applicable or Unreleased, this field is left blank.
If the EBOM Release Status field is populated, this field displays the latest date and time on which a modification occurred to the EBOM. If the EBOM Release Status field is Not applicable, this field is left blank.
