Use this screen to view YTD ledger information with budgeting information. The ledger information is compared to your YTD G/L budget data, if any, and can be compared to your prior year's YTD balance. The screen also shows the variance between your actual and budgeted data.
This inquiry screen displays information similar to that which appears in the regular G/L Inquiry. Where the G/L Inquiry screen concentrates on displaying a period breakdown of information, this inquiry displays instead a YTD comparison to the budget and to the prior year, with budget-to-actual variance columns.
All of the subtasks for this screen are very similar to those of the G/L Inquiry screen.

The G/L Budget and Prior Year Comparison Inquiry screen consists of a table window and five subtasks that can be used as follows:
Use the table window to view YTD ledger information.
Use the Period subtask to view the monthly actual and budget information that totaled the selected row on the main screen.
Use the Posting subtask to view the posting detail from the selected line (access this from the Period subtask).
Use the Transactions subtask to view the transaction detail of the selected line (access this from the Period subtask).
Use the Labor subtask to view the labor detail of the selected line (access this from the Posting subtask).
Use the Transactions subtask to view the transaction detail of the selected line (access this from the Posting subtask).
Use this screen whenever you want to view summary actual and G/L budget data. Only transactions that you posted before the last execution of the Create General Ledger Report Tables process will be included in this screen.
You must first post transactions and run the Create General Ledger Report Tables process before you can view current information in this screen and its subtasks.
Note: You can apply org security to this function. Use this optional feature to grant or remove rights for individual users to view and/or update specific organizations. |
If you want to narrow the rows that display in the table window to a specific fiscal year, enter, or use Lookup to select that fiscal year before executing the inquiry.
If you do not select a fiscal year, all fiscal years that have General Ledger activity will display.
If you want to limit the rows that display in the table window to a specific account, enter, or use Lookup to select that account before executing the inquiry.
If you do not enter an account, all accounts will display.
If you want to limit the rows that will display in the table window to a specific organization, enter or use Lookup to select that organization in this field before executing the inquiry.
If you do not enter an organization, all organizations will display.
The total year-to-date balance displays in this field.
The fiscal year for this row displays in this field.
This non-editable field displays the account number.
This non-editable field displays the account name.
This non-editable field displays the organization name for this row.
This non-editable field displays the organization name for this row.
The total actual year-to-date amount for this account/org displays in this field.
The total budgeted amount year-to-date for this account/org displays in this field.
You entered these budget amounts in the Org/Account Budgets screen.
The total variance between the actual YTD activity and the budgeted YTD amount for this account/org displays in this field.
The total amount for the prior fiscal year for this account/org displays in this field.
The last date that the Create General Ledger Report Tables process was run displays in this field. This indicates the last date that this information was updated for viewing in this inquiry.
To see more recent data, you must run the Create General Ledger Report Tables process.
Select the Period subtask to access the detail, by period, of the actual and budgeted amounts.
This screen accesses the RPT_FS_COMPARE (REPORT_FINANCIAL STATEMENT_COMPARE) table.
