Use this screen to define and track equipment used in the production process. Equipment can be machine, test equipment, or tooling. Once equipment is set up, you can link it to work centers and/or operations for reporting and capacity tracking.
Set up this screen when initializing Costpoint Routings and maintain it whenever changes are made to equipment.
Enter the equipment ID for this piece of equipment. If you selected the Auto Number Equipment IDs checkbox in the Routings Settings screen, a system-assigned ID will display in this field. This field is required.
Enter the description of the equipment. This field is required.
Select this checkbox to indicate the equipment is active. This checkbox is selected by default.
Use this drop-down box to select the type of equipment entered. Your choices are "Machine," "Tooling," or "Test Equipment." "Machine" is the default. This field is required.
Use this drop-down box to select the type of process for which the equipment is typically used. The process types listed are defined in the Process Types screen.
Use this group box to link this piece of equipment to an asset number and item number already established in Costpoint Fixed Assets, or to a template ID. You are not required to enter information in this group box, which will be disabled if Costpoint Fixed Assets is not installed.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the asset number in Costpoint Fixed Assets that you want to link to this piece of equipment. The asset number's short description is displayed in the non-editable field to the right of the Item field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the item number in Costpoint Fixed Assets that you want to link to this piece of equipment. This field may already display the item number associated with the number you entered in the Asset field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the template number used in Costpoint Fixed Assets for this type of equipment. The template's short description is displayed to the right of the Rev field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the revision number of the template you want to link to this piece of equipment. This field may already display a revision associated with the number you entered in the Template field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the ID of the organization to which this equipment belongs. The organization name is displayed to the right of the Org Abbrev field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the organizational abbreviation of the organization to which this equipment belongs. If you entered an organization ID in the Organization field, this field displays the abbreviation associated with the Organization.
Enter the number that describes the equipment's expected life in terms of the unit of measure entered in the U/M field.
Enter, or use Lookup to select, the unit of measure of the equipment's expected life. Units of Measure are defined in the Units of Measure screen in Costpoint Product Definition.
Enter additional notes about this piece of equipment.
Select this pushbutton to open the Source Info subtask, where you can edit or view source information about this piece of equipment.
Select this pushbutton to open the Maintenance subtask, where you can edit or view maintenance information about this piece of equipment.
