Cobra Login Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to enter your user credentials. Cobra uses these credentials to verify that you are an authorized user.

Note: If there is only one data source available and it is configured for Mixed authentication, and the user authentication is Windows Authentication, Cobra automatically logs you in using your Windows credentials.

You can use Windows Authentication by setting the authentication mode to Mixed on the System Authentication tab in the System Settings dialog box, and by selecting Windows Authentication on the Users Authentication tab in PPM Administrator.

Field	Description
User ID	Use this field to enter the ID that your system administrator set up for your use. Cobra remembers the user ID from your last login and automatically enters that user ID in this field. If this user ID is not the one you wish to use, delete it and enter the proper one.
Password	Use this field to enter the password associated with your user ID and click Login. If Cobra displays a message that your login information is invalid, re-enter your user ID and password and click Login again. If Cobra still does not start, check with your system administrator. There are several possible causes for this situation, including: There may be an interruption of network services. You may not be properly registered as a valid user. You may have entered an incorrect password. You are not authorized or assigned to a Cobra license. Note: When you enter a temporary password, Cobra displays a message dialog box informing you that your password is temporary. Click OK to display the Set New Password dialog box, where you can replace your temporary password. For more information, see Set New Password Dialog Box and Set New Password. When you enter an expired password, Cobra displays a message box informing you that your password has expired. Click OK to display the Change Password dialog box, where you can update your password. Forgot your password or user ID?	Click this link to display the Forgot Password dialog box, which you can use to recover your password or user ID. Note: This link is not displayed when you select a data source that uses Windows Authentication.
Data Source	Use this field to select the database connection to use when you log onto Cobra. By default, this field displays the data source defined in the DATASOURCES.DAT file. The field displays all data sources defined in the Cobra Data Tool. The Data Source field is available only in standalone and client/server deployments and not in n-tier deployments.
Windows Authentication	This checkbox displays when you select a data source that uses Windows Authentication or Mixed Authentication. If you select this checkbox, Cobra proceeds with Windows Authentication without prompting for a username or password. If you do not select this checkbox and the selected data source uses Windows Authentication, only SYSADMIN users can log in using Basic Authentication; non-SYSADMIN users are prevented from logging in.
