Data Item |
Description |
Won count |
The number of won opportunities for the attribute in the first column. The total row at the bottom displays the total number of won opportunities for the win rate analysis period. |
Win count + Loss count |
Number of won opportunities + number of lost opportunities for the attribute in the first column. The total row at the bottom displays the total number of won and lost opportunities for the win rate analysis period. |
Win rate based on count |
The win rate based on the number of won and lost opportunities for the attribute in the first column: Number of won opportunities ÷ (Number of won opportunities + Number of lost opportunities) The total row at the bottom displays the win rate based on the total number of won and lost opportunities for the win rate analysis period. |
Win amount |
The sum of unweighted pipeline amounts for won opportunities for the attribute in the first column. The total row at the bottom displays the total pipeline amount for won opportunities for the win rate analysis period. |
Win amount + Loss amount |
Sum of pipeline amounts for won opportunities + Sum of pipeline amounst for lost opportunities for the attribute in the first column. The total row at the bottom displays the total pipeline amount for won and lost opportunities for the win rate analysis period. Pipeline amounts used to calculate win rates are unweighted amounts. |
Win rate based on win and loss amounts |
The win rate based on the pipeline amounts for won and lost opportunities for the attribute in the first column: Pipeline amount for won opportunities ÷ (Pipeline amount for won opportunities + Pipeline amount for lost opportunities.) The total row at the bottom displays the win rate based on the total pipeline amounts for won and lost opportunities for the win rate analysis period. Pipeline amounts used to calculate win rates are unweighted amounts. |

Your firm uses the opportunity awarded date as the win rate analysis date. For principal Grace Cohen, the total pipeline amounts for the won opportunities and lost opportunities with an awarded date in 2012 are the following:
Won opportunities: $2,000,000
Lost opportunities: $3,000,000
If you select 2012 as the analysis period, this table displays a 40% win rate in Amount Win Rate for Grace Cohen:
2,000,000 ÷ (2,000,000 + 3,000,000) = .4 = 40%
As part of the Costpoint Analytics configuration process, your system administrator specifies the date field from opportunity records in GovWin Capture Management that Costpoint Analytics uses to build the calendar for the win rate portion of the Bid and Win Rate Analytics. That calendar is used to determine which opportunities to include in the win rate calculations when you use the calendar bar to select an analysis period.
For example, your firm could use the opportunity awarded date. When you use the year options above the Win Rate Trended chart to specify an analysis period for win rates, Costpoint Analytics includes all won and lost opportunities with an awarded date that falls within that year.
The win rate analysis date can be, and often is, different than the bid rate analysis date. If the two date fields are the same, however, the analysis period you select for the win rate analytics is automatically applied to the bid rate analytics as well.
As part of the Costpoint Analytics configuration process, your system administrator specifies how Costpoint Analytics is to determine which opportunities are won and lost opportunities for the purpose of calculating your firm's win rates. That determination can be based on stage, on a user-defined field from the Opportunity table in GovWin Capture Management, or on a combination of the two.
For more information, see Bid and Win Rate Settings.
When your firm implements Capture Analytics, it can select two amount fields from opportunity records in GovWin Capture Management to analyze as pipeline. The options under Pipeline Amount enable you to display win rates calculated using amounts from either of those two fields.
Pipeline amounts used to calculate win rates are unweighted amounts.
You can display win rate data in the Win Rate Analysis table by any of the following opportunity attributes:
Organization
Principal
Project manager
Supervisor
Client
Source
Type
Opportunity name or a combination of opportunity number and name
To change the analyzed attribute in the first column, do either of the following:
Click to cycle through the options one at a time.
Right-click to select an option from a menu.
If you apply filters before you change the analyzed attribute, the table only displays amounts for attribute values that satisfy those filters. For example, if you select two sources in the Source list under Additional Filters and then use to display amounts by source, the table only displays the win rate data for those two opportunity sources.
Click to display the table at its maximum size so you can read it and interact with it more easily. Click to restore the table to its original size and location on the tab.
You can narrow the focus of this table by selecting one or more rows in the table. To do that, click on the first row, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the selection down the list until the rows you want are selected.
If you focus the table on selected stages or ranges, Capture Analytics applies the same change, as appropriate, to all other analytic objects.
To sort the table based on the values in one of the columns, double-click the column heading for that column.
To change the sort order from ascending to descending or from descending to ascending, double-click the column heading of the current sort column.
Click to send the data underlying the table to Microsoft Excel. More...
