Design a Manage Projects Task Widget
Use the Manage Projects widget to manage a project’s reported percent complete, estimated start and completion dates, and notes directly from a dashboard. When you add the Manage Projects task widget to your dashboard, a Project List widget is also added. The Manage Project task widget is a child to the Project List widget. Select a project in the Project List widget to view and manage the details of that project. When you add the Manage Projects widget to a project page on the dashboard, the widget will be filtered by the project on the page. You can customize both the Project List and the Manage Projects widget to meet your company's needs, following the rules of the widget designer. You also have the ability to roll up percents and roll up dates.
Filters are not available to add to columns when editing the widget. You can still apply temporary filters to a widget when viewing it on your dashboard but those filters will need to be removed before you roll up percents or dates.
Use the to expand or collapse the different levels of the work breakdown structure (WBS) of projects. When you select to expand at higher levels of the WBS, all levels below will also expand. If you choose to collapse at the project level, all WBS levels below will also collapse.
Certain columns are required for the Manage Projects widget. These columns are identified with a padlock when editing columns in the widget designer. You can manage your projects attachments with the Actions column. View more information about the required and other available columns.
Ajera remembers your last selection for the Show Resources and Show Tasks options. For example, if you deselect either of the options, they will be deselected the next time you log in.
The following columns are editable columns by default:
- Reported Percent Complete
- Reported Percent Complete Date
- Estimated Start Date
- Estimated Completion Date
- Actual Completion Date
- Actual Start Date
- Notes
To change this, click on the column and deselect the Enable Editing check box in the column properties.
Before you begin
To add the Manage Projects task widget
- Click > to open Design mode, and click the tab you want the Manage Projects widget to be on.
- In the Tab Properties area, click Add Widget.
- Under Widget type > Tasks, select Manage Projects.
The Manage Projects widget and the Project List widget will be added to your selected tab.
- To modify the columns on the widget, click to open the widget menu and click Edit.
- To enable the % Rollup option for users, select the Enable "% Rollup" button check box.
- To enable the Rollup Dates option for users, select the Enable "Rollup Dates" button check box.
- Add or remove available columns.
- Click to save.
