Notes Tab
The Notes tab allows you to create, edit, or delete a note attached to a resource.
The Notes tab contains the following fields:
- ID: The identifier of the selected resource.
- Description: A label associated with the selected resource ID.
- Note: Use this text box to enter your note. The text box can contain up to 29 KB of text about the selected resource. You can enter the text by typing directly in this field, or by using the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands to insert text entered in another Windows application such as a word processor or spreadsheet. The spell check button
allows you to check the spelling in the note.
You can enter links to files, web pages and email addresses by entering the information in one of the following formats:
- File links must be entered in the format of: file://c:\document.doc
- If the file link you enter contains spaces, you must enclose the link with angle brackets ( < > ) in order for the link to work properly: <file://C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\test.txt>
- Universal Resource Locators (URLs) must be entered in the format of: http://www.deltek.com
- Email addresses must be entered in the format of: mailto:contactus@deltek.com
- Category: This field controls the category of the note. If you are creating a new note, you can select a category from the list of categories set up in the database. Although you can attach multiple notes to a resource, you can attach only one note per category.
When you click OK, the note is saved with the resource, and a triangle symbol is added to the resource in all resource file views.
