Define Cost Resources

Use the General tab of the Resource Details dialog box to define a cost resource.

To define a cost resource:

1. In Open Plan Explorer, display a Resource View.
2. Create a resource.
3. On the General tab of the Resource Details dialog box, change the setting for the resource class to Cost.
4. In the Unit field, enter a measurement unit.
   For some types of projects, you might set up all your costs using dollar units; for other projects, it may be more appropriate to use larger units such as millions of dollars.
5. In the Unit Cost field, enter the base cost per unit of the resource.
6. On the Escalation tab, enter a set of escalations for the cost resource, if needed.
7. Click Close.
