Temporary Calculated Fields
In addition to allowing you to name and save calculated fields for future use, you can also create and use temporary calculated fields.
Here are the following circumstances where you can use temporary calculated fields:
- Export scripts
- Spreadsheet Add, Insert, and Edit Column dialog boxes
- Multi-table define links
- When defining the box layouts for the network and hierarchy views
- When defining box attributes for the network view
- OLE automation
Note: These temporary calculated fields do not display in the Calculated Fields dialog box. They are not saved as part of the project. If you save the view while a temporary calculated field is in effect, Open Plan saves the view with the definition applied.
