Contents of the Integration Tab
The Integration tab contains commands for importing to and exporting from wInsight Analytics.
Import Menu Group

| MS Project | Use the
MS Project option to import projects into Open Plan. You can use Open Plan's import and export interface to import Microsoft Project .mpp files and Project Server projects. The import facility provides a seamless integration with Microsoft's current standard data formats.
Use the MS Project command to start the Microsoft Project Import wizard where you can select the Microsoft Project data to import. You must have Microsoft Project installed on your machine in order to import an .mpp file. You do not need Microsoft Project installed on your machine to import a Project Server (PWA) project. |
| Oracle Primavera | Use the
Oracle Primavera option to import projects into Open Plan. Use the
Oracle Primavera drop-down list to select a P6 project to import.
Use the Oracle Primavera P6 Import wizard to import Primavera P6 data into Open Plan. You can import Primavera P6 projects from P6 web or a P6 XER or XML file. |
| Open Plan | Use the
Open Plan option to import Open Plan backup (BK3) file to Open Plan. You can import a .bk3 file from an Open Plan project.
Clicking Open Plan takes you to the same screens as an MSP or a P6 file import, including field mapping. Like an .xer file import, you can only select one project to import if you are updating existing projects and more than one project if you are creating new projects |
| General | Use the General option to display the Import dialog box where you can set user-defined specifications to import data. Each specification consists of a series of commands and parameters that allows Open Plan to import a project, resource, code, or calendar information in a different data formats. |
| MRP ETC | Use the
MRP ETC option to display the MRP ETC Baseline Import dialog box, which allows you to select and import MRP resource Estimate to Complete (ETC) data into the Open Plan ETC Baseline, replacing existing baseline resource data for all activities included in the import.
This option only becomes enabled when there is an open and active single project in Exclusive mode and there are available baselines on the project. In addition, there should only be one instance of Open Plan running on the same machine. |
| CAM ETC | Use the
CAM ETC option to display the CAM ETC Baseline Import dialog box to import the changes that you made to the CAM ETC data in the XLXS file, which you generated using CAM Export. It brings in the CAM ETC data into the Open Plan ETC baseline, replacing existing baseline resource data for all activities included in the import.
This option only becomes enabled when there is an open and active single project in Exclusive mode and there are available baselines on the project. In addition, there should only be one instance of Open Plan running on the same machine. |
Export Menu Group

The Export Specification field in the Export dialog box contains a list of export specifications that you can use when exporting the file. When you select a specification and click OK, Open Plan displays the Export File dialog box where you can select the file to export. |
| Crosstable Data | Use the Crosstable Data option to display the Crosstable Exports dialog box where you can set specifications to export a file from your installation of Open Plan into another application.
The Export Specification field in the Crosstable Exports dialog box contains a list of export specifications that you can use when exporting the file. When you select a specification and click OK, Open Plan displays the Export File dialog box where you can select the file to export. |
| IPMDAR | Use the IPMDAR option to display the IPMDAR Schedule Export Options dialog box where you can set export parameters for exporting data to an IPMDAR file. |
| CAM ETC | Use the
CAM ETC option to display the CAM ETC Baseline Export dialog box to export time-phased Estimate to Complete (ETC) baseline data for each Control Account Manager (CAM) listed in your Open Plan project to Excel. It creates one XLSX file for each set of activities that is associated with a single CAM value, which usually comes from a user-defined text field or a code filed in Open Plan.
This option only becomes enabled when there is an open and active project with baselines. In addition, there must be a reporting calendar assigned to the project. |
Scripts Menu Group

Log Viewer Menu Group

| Open Log | Use the
Open Log option to display the Log Viewer to review the log files that have been created during the current session of Open Plan as well as to view previously saved log files.
The Log Viewer displays in a docked window at the bottom of the Open Plan screen. You can open and close the window by clicking Open Log in the Log Viewer menu group on the Processes tab, Integration tab, or Tools tab. You can copy text from a log and paste it into another Windows application. You can also search for multiple text occurrences. If you have the Open Plan Log Viewer running when you run an Open Plan procedure that creates a log, the log viewer will automatically refresh its display. |
