| Hide Unreferenced Resources |
You can further refine the list of resources by selecting Hide Unreferenced Resources. This filters the list to only include those resources or alternate resources that are assigned to activities. Note that this field is automatically selected and read-only when you select Use Alternate Resources. While you can choose to display resource pools in the histogram, keep in mind that all availabilities, requirements, and usage displayed for a pool represent a roll-up of the child resources belonging to the pool. Any availabilities defined at the pool level are ignored in the histogram. When selecting resources to display, be sure that all selected resources use the same unit. While Open Plan does not prevent you from mixing resources measured in work-hours with those measured in work-days, for example, the resulting histogram will not provide meaningful information. Clearing this option displays the entire resource use file hierarchy which makes the resource pools available for selection. |
| Use Alternate Resources |
Resource managers use both resources and alternate resources for planning. Open Plan allows you to use alternate resources in Histograms to generate reports. When you select this option, Open Plan displays the alternate resources that are assigned to activities. The functionality of all the dialog box controls pertains to alternate resources. When you select this option, the Hide Unreferenced Resources is selected and read-only. |
Show
This determines how Open Plan displays bars or curves representing more than one resource.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Total |
This option displays the resource bars or curves for multiple resources as a total quantity. You cannot discern the amount of resource requirement or usage within a time frame for any specific resource. |
| Stacked |
This option displays the resources bars for multiple resources in a stacked format. Each selected resource is displayed in a separate color. In the case of cumulative values, Open Plan displays separate S-curves for each resource. |
| Category |
This option displays the resource bars for each resource category. In the case of cumulative values, Open Plan displays separate S-curves for each resource category. Note: If you select both a pool and any other pool or individual resource, the histogram displays each pool as a total histogram bar or S-curve.
