Use the fields and options to configure the Change Access Mode dialog box.

Field Description
File Type drop-down menu

Click this field to select the file type you want to view. You can select any of the following:

  • Project
  • Project Templates
  • Calendar
  • Resource
  • Code
[Results]

When you select a file type, this box displays the names of all the files of that type that you have open. Open Plan displays information about the file in the grid below.

Access Mode

If the file is currently open by another user, the mode in which that user has the file open may impact the changes that you can make. For example, both you and another user have a file open in shared mode, you canchange the mode only to Read-Only. The Exclusive mode is disabled.

Select a new access mode and click Change.

  • Exclusive: Only one user can make changes to the file. For information about exclusive mode, see Work in Exclusive Mode.
  • Shared: You and other users can access the file concurrently. For information about shared mode, see Work in Shared Mode.
  • Read-Only: If another user has the file open in Exclusive mode, you can read the file but cannot make changes to it. For information about read-only mode, see Work in Read Only Mode
Grid

When you select a file from the list, Open Plan displays the following information in the grid:

  • User ID: This column displays the ID of all the users who currently have the file open.
  • Machine ID: This column displays the ID of all the computers on which the file is currently open.
  • Open Mode: This column displays the access mode in which each file is open.
  • Opened On: This column displays the date and time on which each file was opened.
Change

Click to apply your access mode change.

Close

Click to close the dialog box without making any changes.
