CREATING SECURITY GROUPS

Configuring security groups correctly ensures that only authorized users within your organization are able to access restricted part data. The following is an overall checklist of the steps that you must perform during the setup process:

The features in this release relating to Part Data Security are intended to assist your company in achieving ITAR compliance. However, it is each company’s responsibility to confirm that it is meeting its obligations with respect to ITAR or other applicable requirements. Deltek does not warrant that use of this functionality will result in compliance.

Creating Security Groups

To set up security groups, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, select the Use Part Data Security Controls check box to enable security restrictions for restricted parts in your organization’s inventory.

  2. On the Manage Security Groups screen, click  to add a new record on the security group line.

  3. Enter the values for the following fields:

Field Name

Description

Security Group

Enter a unique identification code for the security group.

Description

Enter a description that will be associated with the security group.

Issuing Agency

Enter the issuing agency for which the security group is created.

Status

Select from the drop-down whether this security group is Active or Inactive.

Activation Date

Enter or click  to select the date.
