Use this screen to relieve materials from inventory and charge them to a sales order (SO). Material issues create an inventory transaction, and decrement reserved inventory quantities for all inventory line items. The inventory transaction is posted to the general ledger through the Post Inventory Journal process.
You can also issue non-inventory line items through this screen. The cost-of-sales journal entries for non-inventory items are posted to the general ledger through the Post Sales Order Journal process, via either the Post Invoices or Post Component COGS Corrections posting option. The associated costs for drop-shipment, in-transit, recurring, and invoice-only items are derived from either a percentage of sales or from one of the cost types on the Manage Sales Order Cost Types screen. You must prioritize these cost types before entering material issues on this screen.
You must record issue transactions for inventory, drop-shipment, and in-transit items. You cannot modify inventory costs on this screen.
When creating sales order issues transactions, this application checks the owning organization setting on the Manage Sales Group Abbreviations screen for all project postings.
If the Use Project Owning Org check box is selected, Costpoint uses the owning organization associated with the Charge To Project in the appropriate transaction tables.
If the Use Project Owning Org check box is cleared, Costpoint uses the sales group abbreviation organization.
In order to track serial/lot information on a given SO line, you must specify that the part requires SO configuration tracking on the Serial Lot Information tab of the Manage Parts screen. You must select either the Serial or the Lot check box or the inventory serial/lot flags to invoke tracking on this screen.
For drop-shipment component issues, if the absolute value of the sum of issued quantities (not yet invoiced, for all components) is greater than or equal to the component line order quantity, the SO line is ready for invoicing. For inventory and in transit components, this is determined upon shipping.
If you enter components for a SO line on the Manage Sales Orders screen and set the Issue Components field to Y (Yes) for that line, the components of that line display, rather than the SO line item itself.
Record issue transactions as soon as the material has been pulled from inventory, drop-shipped by the vendor, or passed in transit. SOs must have an approved status before you can record an issue. When you have recorded the issue transaction, Costpoint calculates the applicable cost of sales.
Enter, or click to select, the warehouse from which the material was pulled. The warehouse from the first line item on the SO defaults in this field.
If the Auto-Assign check box on the Transaction IDs subtask of the Manage Warehouses screen is selected for the Issue to Sales Order selection, leave this field blank; Costpoint assigns the next issue ID when you save this issue. If the Auto-Assign check box is selected and you manually assign an issue ID, the Last Inv Trans ID field on the Transaction IDs subtask of the Manage Warehouses screen is not updated. If the Auto-Assign check box is clear, you can manually enter an issue ID. You cannot enter a space as the first character.
Enter, or click to select, the SO number to which the items are being charged.
This field displays the customer ID associated with the selected SO.
This field displays Y or N to indicate whether the SO was posted.
This field displays the organization ID associated with the SO.
This field displays the cumulative extended cost for all line items on the issue transaction.
The system date defaults in this field. You can enter, or click to select, another date as necessary.
Enter, or click to select, the material handler who is performing this transaction. A valid employee ID is required.
Enter notes about this SO issue.
Select this check box, which is active only if you selected the Enable Auto-Issue check box on the Configure Sales Order Defaults screen, to satisfy issue quantities and applicable serial/lot information for all lines on the chosen SO. Costpoint compares the order quantity to the cumulative (to date) quantity. Any residual quantity loads in both the Issue Qty (SO U/M) and Issue Qty (Inv U/M) fields, where you can modify it.
Select this check box to streamline data entry for drop-shipment and in-transit line items. Rather than being pulled from inventory, these items are recorded as issue transactions based on a third party or vendor.
Click this button to load the SO issue details.
If you did not use the autoload function, click to enter a new line. After you enter new SO Line and Component Line numbers, the appropriate information loads into the issue line. After the information loads, you cannot modify the SO Line or Component Line numbers.
This field displays the SO line number. If you did not use the autoload function and want to enter a new issue line, enter, or click to select, the SO line number. After you enter new SO Line and Component Line (if the SO Line requires issues to be done at the component level), the appropriate information loads into the issue line. After the information loads, you cannot modify the SO Line or Component Line numbers.
This field displays the component line number, if applicable. If issuing is to be completed at the component level for a given SO line, the components of that line display instead of the SO line item itself if you select the Auto-Issue check box.
If you are entering a new issue line and the associated SO line requires issues to be done at the component level, enter, or click to select, a new component line number. After you enter new SO Line and Component Line numbers, the appropriate information loads into the issue line. After the information loads, you cannot modify the SO Line or Component Line numbers.
This field displays the Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) from the SO line.
These fields default from the SO line. They are non-editable unless the Sub Parts fields from the SO line is Y for the line item. If you can edit these fields, click to select another item and/or revision number as necessary.
This field displays the item's description.
This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the item is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the item you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that item:
Unrestricted— The item is not subject to data security restrictions.
Restricted— The item is subject to data security restrictions and that you are authorized to access detailed part information.

This field displays the extended cost amount.
This field displays the SO line type.
This field displays the miscellaneous type code, if applicable, from the SO line.
Enter, or click to select, the inventory abbreviation to which the issued material is charged. The default inventory abbreviation from the SO defaults.
Enter, or click to select, the ID of the location from where the material is being issued. This is a required field for inventory line items. If you issue a positive quantity and the From Location is On Hold for the warehouse ID on the Manage Locations screen, Costpoint displays a warning message if you attempt to save the record.
Enter Y to consume allocated inventory in this location. Enter N to consume only unallocated inventory.
This field displays the inventory unit of measure for the item.
Enter the quantity to be issued in the inventory unit of measure. You can also leave this field blank and enter the issue quantity in the ordering unit of measure. If you enter information in the ordering unit of measure, Costpoint uses the unit of measure conversion table to calculate this field. The maximum issue quantity is 9,999,999,999.9999.
You can enter the issue quantity as a negative number, which is appropriate when an item is returned to the shelves as the result of a vendor return, over-issue, or issue error.
This field displays the difference between the ordered quantity and the cumulative issued quantity. The value displayed is in the inventory unit of measure.
This field displays the inventory unit cost for inventory line items only.
This field displays the reservation ID for inventory line items only.

This field displays the quantity ordered for the SO line item.
For SO items that require an issue transaction (in-transit and drop-shipment line types), the item's cost is determined by the sequence of the system costs on the Manage Sales Order Cost Types screen. You can modify the cost that defaults in this field.
Costpoint checks the Manage Sales Order Cost Types table to determine the cost with the lowest sequence number. If a sequence number of zero is assigned, the cost type is ignored. If the cost is not zero, it is loaded into this field. If the cost type produces a unit cost equal to zero, the cost type with the next available sequence number is used. Costpoint multiplies the SO Unit Cost value by the Issue Qty (SO U/M) value to determine an extended cost amount.
This system-calculated field displays the derived unit cost. Costpoint multiplies the SO Unit Cost value by the Issue Qty (SO U/M) value to determine an extended cost amount.
