Add a New Timesheet Entry on the Calendar

You can create timesheet entries on the calendar rather than using the traditional timesheet grid.

You can add a timesheet entry on the calendar if the date is within a timesheet period that is in progress. You cannot add a new entry if the timesheet period is closed or not yet open or if the timesheet is in the approval process.

To add a timesheet entry:

  1. In the navigation pane, go to the My Stuff section and select Calendar.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select Actions > New Timesheet Entry.
    • Select Calendar Timesheet in the left pane and click the desired time on the calendar.
    • Click and drag an item from the Calendar Timesheet pane to the calendar. If the Resource Planning application is enabled, click Recent or Assignments on the Calendar Timesheet pane to view a list of recent or assigned projects respectively, and then click and drag an item from the corresponding list to the calendar.
    • Click the horizontal marker bar next to an existing timesheet entry on the calendar and then click the Copy Timesheet Entry link in the info bubble.
    • Click an existing task or activity on the calendar and then the click Add Timesheet Entry in the info bubble.
The Add Timesheet Entry dialog box displays.
  3. Click in the Project field and choose a project on the Project/Phase/Task Lookup dialog box. If applicable, choose a phase and task as well. Click Select to close the dialog box and enter the values.
If you select a project, task, or phase for which you have not been budgeted, a pop-up dialog displays where you can choose whether or not to keep your selection.
  4. Click in the Labor Code field and choose a labor code on the Labor Code Lookup dialog box. Click Select to close the dialog box and enter the code.
  5. Click in the Date field and choose a day.
  6. Choose start and end times from the Time drop-down fields.
The total time updates in the Regular Hours field. If your timesheet entry requires overtime or overtime-2 hours, enter them in the corresponding fields and adjust the hours so they add up to the Total duration displayed in the Event Time section of the dialog box.
  7. If necessary, enter a comment in the Comment field.
  8. Click Save to add the timesheet entry to the calendar or Cancel to cancel the entry.
