General Ledger Groups

Use general ledger groups to construct sets of general ledger budgets for each division, department, or other groups in your enterprise or organization. These general ledger groups make it possible to review, edit, and report on multiple budgets at once.

Security

You can configure user access to general ledger groups based on the organizations associated with the budgets that are included in each group. For example, if your enterprise has 3 business units and each business unit is composed of 10 teams, your, as the business leader, should only see the 10 teams in your group. You should not see the groups that contain budget information for the other business units.

Access to general ledger budget records is based on the organization record access defined on the General tab in Settings > Security > Roles. A user must have access to all budgets associated with a group to have access to the general ledger group.

Multiple Companies

If you use multiple companies, each general ledger group is associated with a single company. However, you can create a general ledger budget group that includes budgets from multiple companies. The Budget Lookup in the Budget in Group grid is limited to general ledger budget records with the same currency as the functional currency of the active company associated with the general ledger group.

Multiple Currencies

If you use multiple currencies, you see budgets across all companies that are in the same currency as the functional currency of the company that is associated with the general ledger group.
