Dashparts

The different parts or applications that you add to a dashboard are called dashparts.

Your Dashboard content is easy to manage because it is divided into individual sections called dashparts. Each dashpart uses data from the many areas of Vantagepoint, which you can configure to display the data that you use when monitoring and evaluating your business performance. Dashparts use the data for the relevant, available applications, based on the configuration that you specify.

Dashpart bases are different from dashpart categories. You can configure table and chart dashparts with different dashpart bases. By contrast, web URL and Vantagepoint Intelligence are considered both a dashpart base and a dashpart category. For more information on dashpart bases, see: Dashpart Bases.

If your firm uses multiple companies, the data that is displayed in the dashparts with the Account and Account Detail dashpart bases is based on the active company. When you change the active company, Vantagepoint refreshes the dashparts and displays the data from the company that you select for dashparts with the Account and Account Detail dashpart bases.

You use role-based security to manage access to dashparts, to dashpart bases, and to the columns used in table and chart dashparts. To review your role's dashpart access rights, check the Access Rights tab of Settings > Security > Roles.

When you create a dashpart while logged in with a specific language, the language used when you created the dashpart is retained even when you later log in using a different language. For more information, see: Multiple Languages in Dashboards and Dashparts.
