Move a Contact to a Different Organization

You can move a contact to a different organization. For example, when an internal person moves to a different branch of your organization. When you move a contact, you choose whether to keep their contact methods and associated contacts.

To move a contact to a different organization:

  1. Navigate to the contact record.
    For information, see Searching for Contacts.
  2. On the contact record, click .
  3. On the Move Contact screen, enter the name of the organization that you want to move the contact to in the Select New Organization field.
    As you type, a list of matching organizations displays. Click the organization to select it.
  4. Optional: Under Select Contact Methods to keep, select any contact methods that remain the same in the new organization.
  5. Optional: Under Select Associated Contacts to keep, select any associated contacts that remain the same in the new organization.
  6. Click Save.
