Search for Unmanaged Documents

As a member of a project that is mapped to one or more network folders, you can access unmanaged documents via the Documents tab on mapped projects.

If a project has been mapped to one or more network folders, the Documents pane on the left on the project's Document tab displays two nodes: PIM Managed Documents and Unmanaged Documents. PIM Managed documents are documents that have been published to PIM, and these documents are under the version control of PIM. Unmanaged documents are documents that are stored in shared network folders outside of PIM, but which have been indexed to be made accessible in PIM. Unmanaged documents are not version controlled by PIM unless you publish them.

View Unmanaged Documents

To view all unmanaged documents from all unmanaged sources that are linked to a project, click the Unmanaged Documents parent node. Alternatively, you can click a specific unmanaged document pool under the Unmanaged Documents node to view only documents within that folder.

Search for Unmanaged Documents

When you search for documents, all unmanaged documents that match the search criteria display in the search results, alongside any managed documents that also match the criteria.

Tip: All unmanaged documents display Unmanaged in the Version column.

After you run a search, you can click an unmanaged pool to filter the search results to display only matching documents that reside in the selected network folder.
