Clone a Document

You can clone an existing document in the DMS to use as a basis for a new document.

To clone a document:

  1. On the header bar, click Information Zone.
  2. Search for the document.
    For information, see Searching for Documents.
  3. For the document that you want to clone, click > Clone document.
  4. On the Clone Document window, edit the document title and version number, if required.
  5. By default, the new document is published against the same document pools and attributes as the source document. You can modify the selected document pools and attributes for the new document, if required.
  6. To add details and version comments for the cloned document, click the Details/Comments tab, and enter the information into the Details and Version Comments fields.
  7. Click Finish.
    The document opens in the associated application.
  8. Modify the content of the document, as required, and then save and close it.
